Sauron Armor, Foam (WIP)

Hey guys. I've decided to start a project I wanted since I was 12 years old. Full Sauron Armor.

It'll be all free handed.

So far I've made the helmet and the gauntlets. I'm already working on the templates for the vambraces.

Here's the pictures I have so far.

This is looking great! Gotta love the combo of the armor and the suit. A guy has to have something to wear when not waging war on Middle Earth, amiright?

For the gauntlets did you just glue the foam to the glove? I'm going to start working on a Cable costume soon and have been going back and forth between what method to use to make his techno-organic arm and this looks like a great option.

Yep, I used hot glue to glue the pieces do the glove, so it could retain movement. When I needed to glue a piece of foam to another piece of foam, I used CA glue,

I've already made the vambraces, the rerebraces (biceps part) and the One ring. The foam is already coated with some layers of black PVA latex paint. I'll try to post the pictures on the weekend. I'm still deciding which part I'll do next, probably the greaves or the cuisses. I want so bad to start working on the shoulders, but I'm gonna make a silver tape dummy to make all the torso parts, and for that, I'm still waiting for some extra pounds to go away :p.

Already started the mace too, but that will be covered in a different thread on the props section.

So, here's the progress so far. The con is July 6th, so I guess I won't finish it in time :(
The shoulders still lack the spikes, and I didn't finish the neck piece either.
