This looks stellar!! I've been wanting to put together a Nazgul costume, and I will definitely be taking some inspiration from yours.
I'm curious about the circular embroidered(?) details around the trailing base of the robes. Was that an artistic flourish of your own, inspired by the concept of kingly garb that's decayed over centuries? Or is this something that existed on the real costumes? I know there were some bits of lace and other "luxurious" textiles in the originals...
Thank you!
The trims I used aren't screen accurate. I know only two trims that were for sure on the screen costume. One was the silver on the dangly under arm bit. There's photos of that from the parade they did for ROTK. And the other is a trim/embroidery around the sleeve opening that is on one of the statues.
Using that idea, I added embroidery and trims to every layer to give the costume depth. And I did know that they purposefully added some details to give them that kingly feeling to harken back to who they were.
Specifically I chose the lace detail you asked about because it looks like Sauron's eye once I cut it out. And I liked that idea.
