Rubies TOS Phaser budget build

This could be done in a weekend, but seeing as how I'm one of the world foremost experts on procrastination....

Anyway, still waiting on LEDs and some components I'm gonna use to modify the electronics. I want to build a tiny amp and connect it between the board and the speaker so that turning the power knob on the type 2 changes the volume. The components only cost about $1.50 so it's worth a shot.

Went ahead and stuck the painted parts back together to get a picture of my progress right now.

Hi Vincent V, still waiting for some up dates;) and by the way, is that rear P2 knob a metal replacement or some nice painting?

Life got super busy and I completely forgot I was doing this. The knob is the same plastic one that was already there, I just painted it.

I hear you but to forget:facepalm seriously though it came out super and you posting pic's made me order a few of these to play with.
Can't wait to see when your done:)

I don't wan't to open a new thread to ask and since it's about a Rubie phaser.
Any ideas as to how to find just the cheap electronic's for this TOS phaser. For obvious reasons Rubie's home base won't take these requests.
I have found the exact replacement speakers as they are ROHS toy units but nothing as to the sound board. I'm favoring these for laser builds but like said the electronics are far from high quality. I'm having to buy a couple more phasers once in a while to reuse the internals.
