Recreated the prop for 3D printing based on photos and noticed the forward “sight” or targeting thing is up sometimes and down other times. Then I found a preproduction artwork that shows that it’s supposed to move when the top “slide” is pulled back, changing modes between kill and stun. I got a very crude mechanism to work to achieve that motion using magnets to keep it in place. Seems to work well enough.
Since I haven’t seen a version of the phaser with that motion yet I thought some of you might want to check it out. It’s a totally free model and comes with a replica holster.
