Rubies Supreme Boba Fett

According to that Website, it list the DV Supreme @ $794, where on ebay and some other sites, they sell for $497.00. We'll probably see the costume for around $650 or less in a couple months when the secondary market realizes they cant sell it and push the price down to cost.

Unfortunately, its the general public who wouldnt know where to get a more accurate costume who theyre trying to sell this to.

BTW...I thought we were talking about having fun with any costume regardless of price?

IF you can have fun in a Rubies... then have fun. It's just too bad you had to pay $900.00 to do it :):thumbsup

All I know is that I won't be in one.

LOL!

I never said I was getting one of these things. :lol

I think people here are being too critical on this. Its a commercial "costume" made for fun, not trooping nor to be filmed. Not claiming to be a screen accurate prop. While I agree the price is high, its a good attempt on Rubies part for the average person(who dont stare at every paint scraped chip off of the right hand gauntlet from the actual prop to notice the difference).

In my experience the average person doesn't spend 900 clams on a halloween costume.

Agreed on the high price as I stated earlier, but like I said it will probably bottom out at $650 or less...unfortunately the average person is not aware of sites such as therpf or dented helmet. Nor would they be willing to go through the process of putting one together themselves.

I just asked several people at work on their opinion, sadly everyone said they would rather buy a "ready made" than a "do it yourself"(at least when it comes to this). All whom I'd consider the "average people".

I agree with Funky Jedi, I wouldnt pass judgment until I've seen the product myself. Also, it would be ridiculous to be expecting even a mediocre costume.

And did you ask them what they would pay for it ? i bet it's nowhere near $900 or even $650, infact i bet most would think $150 was a lot of money to spend for a party costume.

They laughed at the suggested price. But all and all, no one wanted to go through the hassel to put together a screen accurate costume. Accuracy isnt important to the general public.

That makes anyone of us who do the work to build the best Boba Fett costume all the more proud. And we set the bar high for ourselves, because we focus on attention and detail.

If Rubies wants to mass produce these things, then let them. It should have absolutely no impact on the ones who wants to put together an accurate one.

The inflatable jet pack for $15 is great! I'm getting one for the beach. I hope it has a warning: WARNING! CHOKING HAZARD. POINT AWAY FROM RPF MEMBERS.

I put together a reasonably accurate Fett costume for my daughter last year, for under $500, and it was lightyears better than this thing.

Words can't describe how I feel based on my past comparative studies between the Stormtrooper armor they advertised and how it actually appeared in real life.

So I'll post a picture instead.

I think its right on par with their Vader. If you want to go the quick/easy route, and are fairly handy with some moderate modifications, it can be spruced up.

A MAJOR thing that throws this off is how the green color of the armor is reading in the photo. A better green, and a weathered jumpsuit would take this thing far.

I'd rather buy 800 completed cardboard boxes rather than buy a completed Fett costume from Rubies... has much more use, cheap, and a whole lotta fun!

I could even wrap those boxes in a nice box and send it to myself, and still be more satisfied.

However, if I open one of those boxes and it has Rubies armor in it... that's when I'll be dissatisfied.

The Rubies is like getting crap in a bag... you only have use for the bag.
:):thumbsup
