Rubies Supreme Boba Fett

Ya, the first thing I noticed was the MR helmet. The pinched visor is a dead give away. I doubt that is the helmet that comes with the costume because you would think they would use that as a marketing technique. "Comes with Master Replicas Helmet!" would definitely draw in people so I have to assume that the helmet pictured doesn't come with the costume.

HAHA! After I looked again, I noticed something about the helmet. You can see the guy's face! :lol It gave me a good laugh!

Yep, that is without a doubt a MR helmet.

Kody

It does say a "collectors edition helmet" So that's not one of their current ones. maybe it's a reissue of the Don Post CA?

I gotta agree with Funky.

For the unwashed masses who will go out, buy a SW costume and wear it out in public and give people like us on the RPF a bad name, this looks 100% better then the Rubies Stormtrooper and 50% better then the Rubies Vader.

IF IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THAT PHOTO- Which I doubt.

THAT'S the part I forgot to leave out...the Sormtrooper and Vader! (I knew when I posted there was a nagging feeling that there was was something else I wanted to say but couldn't remember! :lol James is right on. Campare this to the Stormtrooper armor. I think that we could all agree is Boba is far and beyond a more deireable costume. The Vader, well for me I don't think it COMPLETELY sucked. But still better than the TK. I look at the Fett suit as "the best of the worst".

I agree that it is better the the Rubies TK but I still think the Vader is a tad bit better than the Fett. Then again, I never looked into a Vader and I have spent WAY TOO much time looking at Fett pics for my suit. But still not too bad for the average Joe's Halloween party. I guess it proves that if people buy it they have more money than brains:lol. Way to go Rubbies on another fine piece of craftmanship

They wouldnt be able to market it with an MR helmet anyway because MR no longer have the license to make or sell SW items.
For those that say it's a great halloween costume, you guys must have money to burn there's no way i'd ever spend that much money for a fancy dress costume for a halloween party.

Whats "supreme" about that thing?

its kinda like a taco supreme... they just add some sour cream and call it "better"... :)

too bad this thing doesn't cost the same as a taco.

BTW I like how you can see the guys entire face through the T-visor.... his nose is pressed up against it... looks funny :)

The marketing photo used for the rubies vader is from the ROS Visual dictionary. So as well as producing crap costumes, they are using photos of the actual costume worn used in EP.3.

I have seen the stormie in a pic recently (actual costume), you think the marketing photo was bad!!!!:eek:eek:eek:eek:eek It is nothing short of disgraceful.

And just for the record, and so that I can make you guys can start rallying to get my RPF membership revoked, this weekend I saw the Rubies Master Chief costume being worn at a convention. I was VERY impressed. It was tight, nice detail and even the undersuit didn't look bad. That is one I am seriously considering getting.
It's "cool" to jump on the bandwagon and yell that Rubie's sucks!
Me, I call 'em how I see 'em. I encourage everyone to see some of these costume worn by fans who want to look the best out of a Rubie's offering. I think some may be impressed. No, it's still not up to our usual standards, but give some of their stuff a chance.

I'd give it a chance at 10% of the retail price :lol
Even then i'd think twice, seriously Joe Public might say wow that's Vader,Stormtrooper,Fett or whatever but i guarantee if you say yeah and all for the bargain price of $900 they will laugh their heads off.
These things look cheap.
They look like crap in the promo photo's they look even worse in the flesh.
Always have, always will.
They're ok to rent i suppose for a party or something but spend that kind of money on buying one ?

If the price drops low enough, I think it's a lot like the Vader as a starting point.

Buy it cheap, throw some stuff away right away, keep a few good pieces, mod some more, and add better stuff for a more passable version of the costume.

It will never be TDH quality or standards, but I'd love a life-size Boba for display at less then $2000 that's close to accurate.

I'd aree it looks fine for the masses. But the problem being it has about a 10% chance of actually looking like that when you recieve the costume. Since it probably has soem crap helmet and will probbaly be all warped and fit badly, I'd say it's way overpriced for a mass market Halloween costume.

If they give you a halfway decent helmet. This is not the first time Rubie's marketing materials have shown us one thing and, in real life, the costume parts turn out to be significantly different.

The description says that a "Boba Fett Collector's Edition Helmet" comes with it. Well, a Google search shows the helmet is of this design:

http://www.urban-collector.com/swm008.html
http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RU65004
http://www.starwarscostumeshop.com/195051.html

I really hope I am wrong.

Another thing occurred to me is that the flak vest and the jumpsuit might be integrated. The jumpsuit might not necessarily continue underneath the flak vest.

If the street price ended up being about $499, and if the helmet even approximated the shape of the MR, I think it might be an okay buy if a fan simply swapped out the soft parts. If the helmet ends up being the crappy small one.... egh... then we're talking about $100+ for a SgtFang replacement (and considerable paint work).

The thing it has going for it is that it has gauntlets, and I'm sure they're nowhere near as detailed as accurate fanmades. It's easy to build certain armor parts from templates, but the gauntlets and cod are a bit more complex.

Am I the only one who thinks that the guy wearing it is puckering his lips and kissing the inside of the visor?! :lol

Yep. He's just wishing it was a Porkins Deluxe so it'd fit him.

Out of curiosity what helmet was issued with the TK supreme? (this sounds like a burger)
