Rubber Stormtrooper Blasters?

Hey,
A while back I remember seeing a thread about someone making rubber Stormtrooper blasters. I can't find that thread for the life of me...

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Can you give me the link?
I kind of remember them having a website also...

Also,
If they do exist, how are they?
Anyone have one and do they like it?

I'm thinking it would be easier to walk around with a rubber gun, then a real one... Also, is it lighter than a metal one?

Thanks for your help,
tim

What you´re seeking are hyperfirm rubber weapons.

ROBSTYLE is the man you should get in contact with...don´t know if he still makes them, but it doesn´t hurt to ask, right ;)

VERY sturdy, lightweight and darn near indestructable. Perfect for trooping.

I havent been involved with the hyperfirm projects in years but was there at the start, did alot of the work and sourcing. The last project I did was source and mold the ROTJ E11 parts only to have the project and parts "vanish" but they have shown up for sale by someone else through the same people. Money has a way of corrupting some people.

Hyperfirm rubber is a tough rubber skin on top of foam rubber with various armatures inside. Its a very toxic material in raw and curing form but once its set, as long as you dont try and eat it, its perfectly safe, lightweight and super durable.

This was the ANH E11:

and the initial ROTJ E11, before I had molded the scope/rail (master parts shown). This was the very first pull of parts, same as with the ANH E11 all parts were cast separately, barrel fins, misc add on parts, scope/mount... The base was a new in the box, never fired MGC Sterling and rumor has it, was from a batch left over from unused ROTJ items sitting in a box at a shop in the LA area. Not certain about the last part but thats what I was told.

Shame those ROTJ hyperfirms never got off the ground in a legitimate way. I'd give my left....er, I really want one. :rolleyes

Thanks Rob, it´s always nice to hear the story behind a replica, even more if it´s a replica like the hyperfirms.
Sad to hear the story wasn´t as nice for you...

Nevertheless, i own one hyperfirm MG-15 from the only-one-time run and i couldn´t be happier!

I bet they make them as I have purchased a rubber boba fett weapon for trooping offof ebay

Just put my ANH Hero back on the mannequin (was on hiatus for a TOS Cylon). Anyway, during the Cylon's tenure I picked up a hyperfirm ANH blaster from the JY here. About the same time, I also got a resin blaster. Just FYI, the rubber is lighter than the resin and I like the detailing better, too.
