Home Depot Holiday Stormtrooper Animatronic

$300 from Home Depot, this has taken over a Star Wars Room Builder FB page. I showed my wife a few weeks ago how nice it looked, and she secretly ordered it for me!!

Today, we went to Home Depot for “something,” and she told me we would need a cart for my surprise. I had no idea!

Super easy to assemble and put up, I can’t believe how good the quality of the entire thing is. It needs the screw holes filled and some minor mods, but out of the box, you can’t beat it for the price!

Here it is in my front room. I think we’re gonna keep him here until Christmas and then he’ll go in my Star Wars basement. He does come with Halloween and Christmas accessories, but a blaster seemed more fitting!

Doesn't seem too terrible for what it is. Just some screw holes and the chest plate a little weird.
Helmet's gotta go, though. :)

Can the armor be modify to wear?
Yeah, I would imagine that is a huge undertaking that’s not really cost/time effective.

For a holiday decoration, I think it doubles really well for a ready made statue at $300. There’s of course accuracy and stylized aspects of it, but it’s well worth the price. I’d honestly like to get a second one to display on either side of my home theater.

How is the head attached? Wondering if it would require much surgery to swap it out for say something disposable like the BS stormtrooper. Ordered one from Home Depot Canada (for once we don't get totally hosed on the price - $348 CAD - nice!) but they're not supposed to be back in stock for another month and a half. Badly torn on the Vader. It's such a cool piece, but the capes look terrible in the videos I've seen, the helmet HAS to go (I'd plop on my old Don Post CA vinyl probably), and having 8' ceilings, and my understanding being that Darth is 7'2" at the helmet WITH the lightsaber waving around above that....

I think it is awesome as is. Besides adding the blaster, I don’t think you should change a thing.

Love what it does and looks for $300
Oh, the price is absolutely brilliant, no doubt. Have the helmet laying about though, as well as an Anovos, so if it's minimal effort, might be worth doing. One other thing I'm thinking about, having watched a couple of reviews since posting, is printing some new shoulder bells. Watched a video where someone had elastic strapped some AM bells on the stormie, and really improved the look of the chest, eliminating a lot of the black under suit at the shoulder. Minimal effort and cost kinda improvement.

It’s

It’s just on a metal post, so it would be easy to swap. I’d imagine the easiest thing to do would be put a styrofoam ball or something on there and just set the TBS helmet on it.

Edit: I’ll take a pic when I get home from work.

I think this is great and super fun. Anybody who isn't on this forum would love it and not know better. LOL

I bought this and the Vader.

Low cost compared to what we usually spend...haha

This is really nice. I have last years Yoda and I love it! It's great to have these budget options for people who can't spend a fortune!

Dang it, guys! I just bought two!
I keep thinking about a second one because it would look so good flanking my basement TV.

I’ve convinced a couple people to order them now, and I think they’re definitely worth $300. My online friend SouthernSoloBelle just ordered one as well!

I passed on the Yoda and the Vader as I just wasn’t impressed with them.
Any bets on the next two? Perhaps R2 and 3-PO?
