It had some pit marks and mold lines and other issues but they weren't bad to fix. I made a few booboos cleaning it up but am claiming it's wear and tear from use :lol
Here's the hand and such before i final sanded the filler down.

Before i re-engraved a panel line (i did this to a few) and i had to do some other cleaning out of lines and such using a scribe.

Here it is just out of its bath in soapy water to prep it for priming.

And the parts for the scope that will be held on with small rare earth magnets. The design of the scope isn't finished yet as i'd like it to be able to tilt to either side so it looks like teh scopes on the Babylon 5 pistols.

nice blaster!
please continue with progress pics.
really like your scope / magnet idea!!!
might 'borrow' that idea in the future, if ya don't mind? :)

I don't mind. I got some funny looks from my mom when i walked past her register with those scope parts lol.

Very cool
I cannot wait to see it finished, when I had the kit I never thought of putting a scope on it, but if I had then there would have been more pieces lying
around never to be built along with the blaster it self. :lol

looking very good so far!

I just picked up a second one in the Junkyard (got one on the original run) Was thinking about doing something with a matched set, now I can

It's a nice enough one I'd probably get a 2nd one if the chance comes up. I haven't decided on a color scheme yet. I'm gonna shoot it with primer first and go from there to make sure i got all the spots i can easily reach.

lol. I saved copies of all those designs for inspiration. I'm also going to make a spare magazine of caseless ammo for this. I found pics of the ammo just not sure what the blocks/magazines look like. I have to take a break, apparently i got a good lungful of dust from sanding it yesterday and i think i'm getting a respitory infection. All it takes is one small scratch and poof i get sick. I can thank helping my dad with making bone handles for knives for that one. I guess i should wear the fancy respirator they got me for xmas last year.

I have some pics of the HK G-11 ammo, if that'd help :)

Looking forward to seeing this project progress.

I'd love to see some bevels on this gun - she's got a very blocky cross-section. Not trying to besmirch the design, just thinking out loud.

I think that's the pics of the ammo I found online. Not every elegant looking compared to a normal round lol. This design's just futuristic enough to could even be written off as a handheld railgun or magnetic gun. I saw one back in like 2001 or so in Popular science. Some guy in australia made a pistol that uses magnets to fire the rounds and was faster than a machinegun when directly fed.

Still not sure on the scope, i'm gonna look up some online and get ideas. I don't want it too fancy but I don't want it looking really generic and boring either.
On a side note I've added 3 other WIPs to this part of the forum. I'll update as often as i make progress.

Well i hit it with a light coat of gray primer, which i guess i shoulda shook better, but i found more tiny pin holes i guess i'm going to need to fill in. nothing major but man it's a pain in the butt. I also drilled the holes for the scope magnets to be embedded, I used the 2 indents on the top that i thought were meant to mark where a scope was to go.

A rough look at the blaster and display. I have to do some repairs on the display and add some parts to it.

The magnet holes are too small for the large magnets but just right for the next size down (just too deep) but since they fit down in i dont' have to recess the magnets that will be on the scope, they'll just fit down into the holes with luck.
