My Blade Runner Blaster Case WIP

I thought I'd share some shots of my Blade Runner Blaster case projects. I'm doing two: One using a metal camera case and a second using a wood case from a whisky decanter set (need to take a pic of that). The blaster is a Coyle I just got.

So far I have a 3D printed Stery logo from a eBay seller in Europe ($10 shipped) and I just found a local trophy shop willing to make me a couple custom metal data plates. The "tool chest" foam just arrived so I'll be sizing that up soon.

I plan to make up a LAPD property tag to print out and paste on, along with the LA City seal and probably some sort of security tape. Oh, and an ammo box.

Here's what I have so far:

Keep us posted on your progress! I dig blaster cases and am curious to see how the foam works for you.

Wow, thats cool, can you give us some insights where you got the Plaques from?

I googled up "trophy shop" and found several within 30 or 40 minutes of my house. I contacted them by e-mail with a finished design as a PNG image and an additional SVG file for the Steyr logo.

I believe they reconstructed my sample using their own fonts and the SVG file. They might have used my PNG image along with the SVG file, I'm not sure.

If you want to try something similar I'd recommend having a completed file in PNG format and high resolution, and possibly a SVG image of anything more complicated than plain text. Call around, you want a local shop that does small runs, not the big industrial places with $500 minimum orders and $50 art setup fees. (Mine cost $14 per plaque)

You did your homework on all fronts!

'Mom-and-Pop' places can vary from 'why would you want that, we make softball trophies' to 'are you sure you don't want that in Klingon?’

Cherish the latter!

That said, being in my seventies I can appreciate a bit of 'go away kid, you bother me...'
