Where did you get that coat?

Hello, first time I've posted on the RPF.

Thought I should show off my Rorschach.
It was possible with all the great resources from this thread.

The suit jacket was a bit too bulky to wear under the trench coat, so I need to get that fixed.
But other than that, I was quite happy how well it turned out.

Any questions or criticism would be appreciated.

OKAY...Where did YOU get your trench coat?

I actually got the trench coat at Goodwill for $6 (lucky find). I've tried finding more information about the coat, but I can't find anything on it.
Here's the only tag on it (except "made in Korea"):

Also, the coat next to my London Fog (stole the LF belt, since it was longer):
Plus a better picture of my coat:

The Woodmere was the same color as the London Fog originally.
Also, the first picture has a better representation of the color.

Yeah, sweet coat. You do that up yourself? And is that the Texas Hatters fedora?
Thanks! Yeah, I dyed and weathered it myself; the dye didn't really "stick" too well though (too much synthetic fiber).
It's a Texas Hatters Rorschach in dress weight. It is one nice hat.

Oh, man. That's great looking, though I'm gonna have to hold off until I save up a little bit. Definitely interested in a scarf, too.

I found this on eBay. It cost over a hundred but that's to be expected for a legit made-in-the-70's leather coat. I had it shortened to be just over the knees and used the excess material to make a longer belt for tying in the front. Wire coat-hangar in the epaulet to bend into shape.

You'll be hearing from me soon about a coat and gloves, Indy. I've been budgeting for a couple months now, and next pay day should get me where I wanna be.

I'm so stoked. :cool

Has anyone found any more information about the suit? I'm going to make this for someone using our Joker Pants fabric (which is the closest fabric we've got without going custom, which would be a fortune). In the comics it shows a double-breasted coat with notched lapels, which is just a terribly ugly combination that I can't image they went with this for the film jacket (even though it would never be seen, I just can't believe whoever tailored the outfit would have combined those two features). I've seen it done on some tuxedos, but other that that, I think this combination only reared its ugly head briefly during the 80s. Could be wrong though.

Here's what I'm talking about:

Greetings all;

I have been working on my Rorschach since the first of the year. One of my friends has been bugging me to get signed up here, so I did. This place has more information and better photos than anywhere else. A real costume makers dream!

I have a couple of questions:

One, Who can make me a mask that looks like the one on the cover of the Watchmen Movie Companion? This can be either static or moveable. I would ideally like one that moves, but will settle for one that doesn't. I did buy one online on Ebay. It's nice but too tight and is more graphic novel, than movie.

Two, Does anyone still want the exact buttons that the trench coat has? If so, then let me know.

Thankee kindly for all your help,

Don

Good evening:

I was asked about where I got my buttons from, here it is:

The Button Store
8344 West 3rd Street
Los Angeles, CA 90048
Phone: 323 658-5473
Email: faye.thebuttonstore@gmail.com

Here are a couple of Button pics and a couple of me in my in-process Rorschach:

I decided to make mine on a budget. Everything but the mask is from Ebay or thrift stores.

Like I said, I could use a better mask. Anybody help a fellow Rorschach out?
