Roman Props MK1 Chassis without Shapeways?

I know my chamber is not as intricate as some of the builds I’ve seen, but I want to keep it simple. This is my first Mk1 build, and I just want something that will work. I can always add complexity later.

I’m still waiting for the rest of the chassis to ship, but I have everything else gathered and ready.

I get me crystals at some local witch shop a few towns over.. yes you heard me correct a witch shop, my town has to burn them at the stake don’t forget ;)

When cutting crystals I use stone wheels with a dremel, thick gloves, glasses and a face shield

This PPE is a MUST because this stuff shatters! And can seriously hurt you

I have seen many people grab crystals off Amazon and eBay too
Have had great success at gem fairs and Amazon sourcing crystals, can confirm. Gem fires are nice because you get to pick the size/shape from available selection, but they can be a bit more costly. Though I have found a couple not needing to be cut, which I'd prefer.

If you thought I was teasing before, you’re going to hate me now. I just realized I don’t have the 2mm rods needed for the build.

Amazon will deliver them on Monday.

I guess I’ll have to do some wood working this weekend instead. I’ve been on a pen turning kick recently.

In my defense, I do have 4mm, 3mm & 1.5mm on hand. I thought I had 2mm as well, but I was mistaken.

How exactly is the battery wired into the chassis? There aren’t any battery contacts listed on the parts list of the Shtok assembly guide, and I don’t see where any would go. The batteries in the guide are regular protected button top cells, so there should be contacts.

And now I’m stuck. I used 22AWG for the power and 28AWG for most of the other wires. Unfortunately, the combined thickness of all the wires is too much to pass beside the battery in the battery holder part. This is before I even add the three button wires. I’ll most likely have to disassemble everything, which will probable break a few of the chassis components.

I had to step away from the MK1 for a few days. I was dreading taking everything apart.

Today I carefully removed piece after piece. I’m happy to say that I only broke the speaker holder. I could probably still use it since it will never be seen. But I would know it was in there and not how it should be. I plan to order just the speaker holder from Shtok.
