Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

While that doesn't excuse what happened, there are some huge differences between this and the Han spoiler. Han's a character we had been invested in for nearly 40 years. Whatever happens in Rogue One would be to (mostly) new characters that we aren't really expecting a sequel to.

the only reason why this leak effected me was when watching panels you know your kinda safe from huge spoilers. and well.. i better tag then next words
i grew attached to Chirrup Îmwe as he was blind and it looked like he was force sensitive. with no jedi in this movie he was going to be our closest super power character. now knowing he goes sucks... well for me at least. but like others said, we all know they dont make it into the OT so their fate is pretty much sealed

I'm still hoping that this will end similar to some previous material (ANH radio play and other sources) with the Rebels (Rogue One cast) holding a relay just long enough to transmit to Leia's ship, then getting overrun. That would really fit with the feel of a war movie and makes their sacrifice more meaningful IMO anyway.

Dang, that would be good.

I'm not saying copy the radio drama, just the part about the Rebels just holding out long enough to transmit the data then presumably dying or getting captured.

Mark Bernardino, who does the FATMAN ON BATMAN show with Kevin Smith, had the best idea I heard for the ending. I know it'll be hated by some, but it gave me chills.

So we see Jyn in the TIE Pilot uniform in the end of the trailer. What if she's the pilot that flies into Vader in the trench to save Luke, sacrificing herself to take out Vader, & inadvertently helping Luke.

The twist is the movie runs concurrent to ANH, & the stealing of the plans are just the half way point. His idea was that there last shot of the film would be showing the surviving members of the team sitting quietly in the corner of the Yavin base, mourning their fallen members, all while Luke, Leia, & the others celebrate their victory.

Very much in keeping with a SAVING PRIVATE RYAN feel.

I thought it would be cool to have Krennick brought before the Emperor and Vader after several failed attempts to retrieve the stolen plans. Krennick arrogantly makes excuses but the emperor won't have it. Palpatine, in a fit of rage, lifts Krennick off the floor with force lightening. The room is filled with the howls of krennick, and the angry screams of Palpatine. Krennick stays suspended in the air as his cape flutters as if he's falling from the sky. As the last echos of his screams fade away, Palpatine releases him, and his lifeless smoldering body hits the ground. 2 royal guards drag his body away as Palpatine walks up to Vader and tells him it's now his job to retrieve the plans. Vader gets Intel that they have been tracking a ship that may have the plans on board. Vader takes a star destroyer and intercepts the ship and orders it destroyed. The ship is blown up and obliterated, but not before it could beam it's information to a blockade runner last known heading before it jumped to light speed was tatooine. The star destroyer jumps out of hyperspace just behind the blockade runner and disables it's engines before it can jump again.....

In that trench run though the pilot says "Look Out!" over the comms and it definitely does not sound like her.

And as the Royal guards drag Krennick away four loyal Death Troopers intercept them and blast them down. A lightly smoking and trembling hand rises from the ground , Krennick lives , just barely!!! Into the bacta tank he goes and his horribly scarred face glares redly in the liquid , swearing revenge on Vader and the Emperor by learning their sorcerers ways and then ,then you realize it!!!! Krennick is to become SNOKE!!!
( Just Joking but somebodies bound to be suggest it!!!!)

Nice :)

Personally, I think they did a great job of updating the helmet without messing with the design. Until now, the only difference I'd noticed was that it was symmetrical.

Although it looks pretty great, It doesn't have the small white band above the eyes. I'm not sure if I miss that or not.

I know that it bothers me a lot on the Bandai kit, I'm not as bothered by it here

Close-up of the TK helmet. Note the Side vents are actual vents, the teardrops are metal plates with grooves cut into them and the mouthpiece seems to be individual tubes, or at least separated into sections as you can see a gap between them.

The frown teeth are also molded separately from the helmet.

Good eye. It also appears the Grey trapazoids are also a separate piece. It may be safe to say they didn't use any paint on these but rather separate pieces of different colored plastic and metal. I really like it.

Except that that pilot exclaims "Look out!" in the same distinctly male voice in every iteration of the film, from original to the BluRay Special Edition. It's not a woman.

Her disguise was that of an Imperial Gunner, not TIE Pilot.

It's not either, in the details. I've never seen any gunners with hard armor, just the padded thing that was rotated for use as the Sandtrooper pauldrons. At the same time, it's been enumerated elsewhere all the things that mark it as not an accurate TIE Fighter Pilot getup, either. Until we see more in the way of context, we don't know if this is yet another new uniform variation introduced in this film, or yet another OT costume inaccurately re-created for the film.

Which basically just means they went with the ANH Hero for inspiration:

I personally prefer a little bit of white brow above the eyes, but not as much as on some of the Stunts -- split the difference, basically. In general I'm mixed on the new helmets. I have, in my own efforts, done the black lines in the tears and rear traps as slits, and separate teeth. But while I have done the chin grille as separate rods, I've covered the whole thing with a thin rubber protective skin, so the gaps aren't visible. And I do the traps and tears and ear greeblies as separate insets with the black borders being thin rubber gaskets. I do not like the tube stripes as insets or vents.

I suspect this is a pre-production prototype. All shots of the helmet on display at CE 2016 as well as the EW promo stills show a bit of a gap between eyes and the brow trim, although not as raised as the ANH Stunt.

Side note on the subject of TIE Pilots and this movie:
at the 1:00 mark of the Rogue One Celebration reel, there are two Pilots chilling in the middle of the subway scene while the groundpounders are marching about.
Yeah that made my day.

i believe this theory was brought up in this thread quite awhile ago. If they could make it work, it would be a great addition.
