What does the TIE Pilot Costume look like if you take the helmet off and the chest attachment with the hoses going in? Perhaps the helmet connected with hoses to the chest panel needs to to be attached to what Jyn is wearing there? Hmmmm

i believe this theory was brought up in this thread quite awhile ago. If they could make it work, it would be a great addition.

Yeah I think I posted it... cuz when I first heard I REALLY liked the idea... but then I put on the flick and it doesn't jive with the scene... it would be a stretch.

However if this does end 10 minutes before ANH, then no go...

But she IS wearing a TIE flight suit... I would really like it to have SOMETHING to do with the trench battle.

And it wouldn't take away Hans moment... Han didn't hit Vader or anything, A TIE pilot yells, "Look out!" and the two ships clip each other.

I do love the idea that she's sneaking around, runs into another TIE pilot... and just as she's worried he may figure who she is, Vader comes round the corner and orders her to come with him.

ALWAYS want to be increasing the stakes.

Maybe this is how she escapes after her team is taken out, it's entirely possible, I would even hazard to say likely, the Jyn and a few others do survive this film. They likely won't want everyone dead at the end, they want an upbeat ending. And Jyn and her team could prove good fodder for future stories in books and comics. This isn't going to be Daving Private Ryan, it's a PG-13 Star Wars film.

It could be a pilot uniform for something other than a TIE, or perhaps a new TIE variant. The Death Star gunners wore leather-like jackets with no back pack, Jyn's outfit looks more like denim.

T.I.E fighter ground crew? It looks like the rods on her back have lights at the top to me (the rids are upside down in the picture - look at the bottom of the rods / backpack). Maybe to direct were the fighters go?

it looks to me like the pilot on the right in the above screencap has those rods, just not extended.

Looks like a maintenance/construction uniform to me, and that would make sense with the life support equipment. I don't know what the rods would be for though.

Her boots may not even show in that scene, Harrison Ford wore sneakers in some of his shots going thru Starkiller base and on the Falcon when he wasn't shown below the knee.

C'mon people why would a TIE pilot have light up batons, which are used to guide a ship to land, on their back? She doesn't even have a TIE pilot life support thing on her chest. It's completely different.
