Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

Well China tries to keepTiananmen Square massacre suppressed, you will be hard pressed to find people to speak of knowing about it on camera.
But we know they do. And we surely do.

Ancient Egypt had instances where faces and names would be defaced from stone carvings, to erase them there was to make them not exist.

I don't think we should draw parallels to modern political situations, plenty of BS equally on left, right and middle there, but that is small potatoes compared to say nobody remembering Churchill or the soldiers on D-Day. Sure you have some idiots that know little history or believe in moon landing hoaxes, but overall history has a way of enduring.

The closest thing I can think is N. Korea, those people are in an effing bottle. I don't think the Empire at it's height had any kind of control like that
because if they did there would never have been any kind of rebellion.
Leia knew they did not have full control, even Tarkin was obsessed with thinking fear would keep everyone in line. Not actual total control.

Well one thing almost no one mentions is the fact that the Jedi practice taking children away so they can become Jedi and they never see or know their families that has got to rub some people wrong and the whole Republic was a corrupt mess so add all that together and with the small number of Jedi and like I said they could have been in the advanced state of decline and no one believed in them.possibly hated them.

That's the funny thing about the prequels-Lucas wanted to fill in all the details and when he did it made the so-called "heroes" less so and more like some whacked out mildly terrifying cult that by all rights would be on the FBI's ten most wanted list :lol

If they are sticking with this whole "practical sets" this one might be a real test. Especially if it's rushed

I don't think anything actually said they would forcibly take a baby if the family objected. They said for most people it was an honor to have their baby chosen. Either way that definitely didn't help their reputation. There was some old EU book where they even said they were called baby stealers by people.

Re: Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One

The slight OCD part of me hopes that if Vader is in this, it will be the rougher ANH-style. However, I guess it's a moot point since ROTS Vader wasn't...

This seems potentially relevant:

Hmmm. Did they not?

From the pics taken from far away we've seen the new Stomies which seem to be some kind of a combo with some weird tells on armors. But we need to see more detailed pictures to definitely say what is truly going on

Oh gotcha. I thought some new pics had leaked out or something. I couldn't tell much from the distant shots.

To me, some of the ships and stuff reported being seen in the movie don't come across much as spoilers. We know the plans get to the alliance somehow just preceding A New Hope.

This one will be interesting to see and looking forward to seeing the old classic Stormtroopers again as well as possibly some surprise familiar faces.

Is the first trailer expected around "Captain America: Civil War" release?

I think that's the speculation. I'm actually surprised more about this movie hasn't leaked out but I guess TFA was a good distraction.

One thing I can tell from the body armor is I'm 99% sure they didn't cast or try to emulate ANH Stormtrooper armor apart from the style. Helmet I'm not sure about. It's hard to tell from those distant shots but ANH Stormtroopers are my favorite OT prop and I've obsessed over them for years so it's an educated guess. Still will be awesome to see OT Stormtroopers though no matter what they are. :)

I'm pretty sure the armor was recreated from existing sources of the original suits, but there were some changes made to some of the pieces to get the pieces to fit together better.
