LucasFilm has already made a point of trying to differentiate these SW Stories films from what they call the Saga films. As such I would be prepared for each one to strike new visual and creative and narrative ground to various degrees. I strongly feel the crawl and traditional score will be reserved for the Saga film to maintain their own continuity and the Story films will all have unique openings.

I kind of like the idea of opening them up like the Clone Wars Series.
Have an announcer telling what is going on up to this point in the story like an old war news serial would have.

I enjoyed many parts of the Clone Wars series, but I really didn't care for the "news reel" narrated intro. I REALLY, really HATED the music. I would rather it been Duran Duran than the syncopated main title theme we got. This new Star Wars movie is not going to feature any of the known characters, so it's not going to get any of their themes. Darth Vader may be there, but they don't even have to use his Imperial March theme. There is no need for the new music to be ripped from previous movies, just rip the previous style. For the love of God, don't take a familiar theme and change it. JW won't be with us forever in any case; Disney will need someone to fill his shoes someday.

Put me in the "no crawl" camp. I'm sure there'll be some brief paragraph or something putting us in a time and place, but I'd like the crawl reserved for the saga films.

I could live with no crawl, but what do you do during the Main Title music sequence, then? It's not Star Wars without that. Maybe a different kind of crawl (graphically) to differentiate it from the saga.
They can ditch the crawl but they should do something in the spirit of the serial films of old to bring us into this film.

Ditto. I thought it worked for a fun little TV cartoon. Would be too cheesy for a major motion picture.

If done differently, meaning in a more serious tone, a short narrative would work great. I think it's just hard to imagine what it would be like since the Clone Wars narratives were so cheesy.

I don't know if it was discussed before but here what came to my mind about Donnie Yen' character :
- we know he is blind thanks to the first cast picture,
- he has very good martial skills and the stormtroopers don't have time to shoot at him before they are hit
- 2 weeks before the trailer that shows us the above statement, we learned that Kanan Jarrus from Rebels lost his eyes and we knew for a long time that he prefers not using his lightsaber.
So, I know the face type is not the same as Kanan seems more caucasian than Donnie Yen but, why not
I'm probably totally wrong about this, but I liked it when I thought about this ^^

Or, they can just change his face like they did for Obi Wan when he had to disguise into Rako Hardeen in "the Clone Wars"

Normally I don't care about fan theories, but really like the current one that the glowing tube in the trailer is a bacta tank, and inside the tank it's Snoke healing from whatever messed up his face... hence the royal guards plus robed figure.
