rocket raccoon WIP

INCREDIBLE! Such an awesome work in costuming! Your Boy will be the hero of all the Cosplay kids!
Really, great Art in Building, wish I had a Mum who had done that when I was a Child... I'd have been murdering for a TMNT Costume ;)
Your son can be so proud for you! Keep up the Good work, I'll watch your Progress with great Interest... :D

I'd just like to drop my kudos among the others here. This is really looking amazing. I was hoping to build a little Rocket puppet myself, and your methods are pretty much acting as a proof-of-theory for a lot of my ideas!

Keep on keepin' on. This is going to be great.

thank you! Ya I had tried to make him snarl etc but I decided after it made his mouth more tired to wait till I learned more about animatronics so it can do it on its own. Good luck to you!!

Progress slow because of my other sons recovery from surgery and my 5 year olds bday is tomorrow! My little rocket will be turning 6! All I've done is started covering the padding with scraps of fabric. Looking more like the padded suit I want. Luckily it doesn't have to be perfect because fur is so forgiving. May start on his bounty hunting orange outfit this weekend! :)

I just went through your thread. All I can say is AMAZING! I can't wait to see your progress on this! I also think that it is awesome that you can get your whole family in on it. Such a great idea!

Aww thank you both! Good luck with yours terry taber :) Progress has been slow because I had to make some non explosive bullet rigs for my friends movie..but I did make a little progress.

the hands. Was gonna go for regular fluffy paws, but I thought thinner colored latex like I did for the ears would be best. The arms will be connected to the orange suit via snaps or stitches in case he gets to hot. So I thought removable gloves are a must
I used hot wax (don'tworry, have done before many times lol) and ice to make a rough cast of his hand. Poured in plaster and voila. Hands. I will be sculpting onto these with clay like I did the mask and hopefully they will resemble rockets. I willbe adding length too because kids grow like weeds. Lol. After I get started II'll post more pics. 20140907_024908.jpg20140907_031153.jpg20140907_040635.jpg
