That looks greatI studied reference images of raccoon tongues and taxidermy tongues and they don't actually have much texture, kinda like dog tongues. I didn't have heaps of time either so just went quick and simple. But great idea for future reference
I just painted mine with acrylic and added a gloss (so it looks wet).
I'm a bit of a sad nerd because I actually really enjoyed studying the skull morphology when working on his teeth. I have a major in zoology and it was one of favourite topics. We never looked at raccoon skulls though so this was new! Is it weird too that I looked at images of raccoons with mange (and the hairless mutation) to see the face shape...lol
That is some good parenting!!
Love this build! Very creative..!
omg, i looked at the hairless one too! lol. I had to look at the director's dog, apparently the mouth was scanned of his dogs mouth, I couldn't figure out why rocket had such pointy teeth till I read that. I tried to get as close as possible too, though I had to shorten the teeth just a tad bit to get the mouth to close better.your mouth looks really nice

Thanks! He is super excited. Well, other than the closure for the back his head is done. On to the body![]()

Mudget, thank you sooo much! you are the best!!!
This is an amazing build; you are exceptionally talented. Dedicated parents rock!
My sons are now 18 and 21 and they still remember all the hard work which went into their costumes when they were small. You never realize how much you are truly paying it forward when you accept such challenges for a child. Keep up the great work!
That is so nice of you to say! Thank you!!Wow. Every once in a while you come across an amazing build thread. This is certainly one of the best I've seen. Amazing work.
