Robocop Reboot (Pre-release)

If anything they'll use CGI to augment it like they did the suits in Ironman that they really built.

A quick 'shop job for who I'll build this suit:

I like the new suit. After all the movie takes place in 2029 so I expected something drastically different from 1980s Robo. Really digging the helmet too. I'm sure everything will look better on camera which ever stage this is in. Also the color manip above looks great.

i don't care if gary oldman is in this movie.

that suit is bloody awful.

it looks just like the concept picture that was posted previously.

i was thinking they might at least reference the original movie suit.

But this one looks like an iron man reject costume painted black.

the only way they can rescue this is to paint it grey like the photoshopped pictures.

ouch, what an awful costume designer they got for this movie. Even i could have done a better job.

This reminds me of Superman Returns, where they get some complete moron to make Supermans costume maroon brown instead of red, and made him have the most pathetic neckline and collar ever seen, and tight panties, with a tiny s shield.

Looks like hollywood has finally killed the concept of originality.

Hell, if they really want to make this reboot even more pathetic, they should make sure they put in Colin Farrell, a guy who just loves to participate in rubbish remakes (total recall, fright night).

This already looks a MILLION times better!

indeed it does.

although considering we have heard robocop goes through multiple costumes. he may end up with this look at the end.

who knows. its all down to those amazing people in hollywood with their incredible originality and uniqueness.:facepalm

Shape-wise, I think it looks pretty cool; it reminds me of mecha stuff from 80s anime. The color does suck though, but if they're going to augment it in CGI afterwards and make him shiny or something, then I'm all for it.'

EDIT: Yeah, the photoshop job already looks so much better.

I'm going for wishful thinking and say maybe he's wearing a test suit; probably, they haven't painted the final suit yet and they were just shooting test footage. I mean, he is missing a glove after all.

Possible. But if they were going to do that he'd be wearing something with motion trackers on it.

If those are from the set that's the suit.

I'm not sure. Did Ryan Reynolds have motion trackers on the black suit they CGI'd the Green Lantern suit onto?

I can see it now - someone here is going to make an Iron-Bat-Fet-Cop suit!!!!

But it won't be truly awesome until someone steampunks it!!! LOL!!!

I'm not sure. Did Ryan Reynolds have motion trackers on the black suit they CGI'd the Green Lantern suit onto?

Yes he did. As others have said they'll undoubtedly accent it with CG but if they were going to put CG over the whole thing why would they go to all the effort to make it as "finished" as it is?

I just want the metallic look. The shape of the suit doesn't bother me.

You guys all say Iron Man and TDK.

I say Raiden from mgs4. I like the suit, not really feeling ot for Robocop, but we'll see..

the issue is it looks like a guy in a suit vs the RoboCop we all know that is over sized and looks mechanical as a sign of the times. Technology wise, from the mid 80's to now there has been massive leaps and bounds in what we consider "the norm" in every day life. The design seems to reflect that aspect being slender and sleeker.

If what I heard early on holds true, that suit may well be an OCP military prototype meant for a human to wear. In other words the starting point for the Robo program and the stepping stone for OCP's full fledged RoboCop which is a machine with human judgement.
