Great work, i also see you did the two ears pieces separate from the rest of the helmet, are you going to stick it up then with resin or what are you going to use?

Good work, keep it up.

Hey i am in the construction process of the mark IV armor (for this october should be ready), this files are great to work, i also have resized the paper to A1 for plotter cutting because i am a little bit hanged whit work, i will post it later if someone like to save the cutting work, but i have a question for you guys:

I realized that the back fin`s are missing, also the spine that fits this suit is missing, ¿Somebody have this files, at least some from other user to complete the suit?

Thank`s by the way for any help!

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

thanks Nick, yeah i have them seperate at the moment, they are resin already, I am gonna attach them after i get everything smoothed out and ready to mold, they are actually modified ever so slightly. I have them notched where ya wont see it when attached to the helmet so you can hear everything outside of the helmet just fine.

Some of the pieces are still under development or modeling, Robo has been working on them, its only matter of time.

Thank`s guy`s, and superman, that is a good idea because i have a thought that when finished it will be pretty noiseless, those holes will help (i`m working in sharkhead`s helmet also).

I am waiting for the upgrades so anxious, i really need it to finish my suit before october.

i would say that by sometime next week everything should be done....

i should also note that as far as scaling and such I'm a complete noob, I simply made the suit so it would fit a 6 foot tall person (ie me) allowing for a few inches of height either way.....

if you have a scaling question you are better off asking it in here rather than PM'ing me as you'll get a much better answer than anything i could give

Even better, ask that question in the dedicated sticky atop of this forum.

There already is some information on scaling in there, but it would be good to collect some more info in that thread.

Thanks,

so far i've made 2 helmets and the 1st one as you can see was not successful. anyone got suggestions for resin alternatives? i can't seem to find any resining product here in the tarlac, philippines. believe me i've been asking in every hardware & autoshop here in our place. I'm thinking of varnish > wood/plastic dough > bondo.(well this is the suggestion of the clerk in the shopping mall's hardware section.). the only problem is, has anyone tried this method yet? :) btw i love the fact that each forumer here is willing to help. i've been reading lots of posts and i've obtained so much info on what to do.

thanks again for the pep files robo! :D

I'm pretty slim. I'm 137, but I look like I'm 115. But I messed up my knee and haven't done any sports for a while and I have quite a gut right now, LoL. So I'm starting p90x to get the 6 pack back.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

Well i have a suggestion for you quovadis0920, you can try a technique called maché, i think, you need to apply some spray glue on your model to proof it, or if your paper lends you, apply some white glue on it, then when your paper is not so willing to arc because of humidity, start applying a coat of news paper soaked into white glue, i believe if you put a few coats letting it dry between one and another it will be wearable and not too weak, but it get`s not the same resistant as fiberglassing, i hope this help`s.

Note: Maybe like 6 coat`s will be ok.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

So I had a scaling question and I figured I've pestered Robo too much already. So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas with this. When I measured my arm against the individual pieces of the arm, the scale became 26.6 ish. Now I already made an arm with scale 28.25 so I'm wondering if I should just scrap those overly large pieces and remake them with size 27. Any ideas?

Mache might work but it dosnt hold like the fiberglass sadly, i suggest using the mache on the inside and giving the model a few layers of glue in the outside, because if you add the mache on the outside it will end up bad im sure. After the glue, you might think adding the bondo to make it stronger.

in another topic, i have a question here... whats the order of the crafting here?
*Pepping
*Resin the outside
*Fiberglass the inside
*Bondo
*Detailing
*Paint?

i've seen some people does actually make molds and stuff, do you guys just use the pep/bondo to create the mold and then just cast it on Liquid Plastic?

Edit: Also! does anyone have the Neck seal piece? i cant find it anywhere :S

how tall are you?
I know Robo's default scales are around 25.?? and he's 6'. I'm using 23.2 - 24 (peneding on part) and I'm 5'8".

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

I'm thinking about building another suit after this, and paint the red parts with Black pearl (with red tint to it), and do the gold parts a dark bronze.
