download the designer. its free but you cant save it in pep format. you can however pdf the file once scaled.

this is so awesome. thank you so much for your generosity. I just finished Dung0bettle's helmet and I'm using your armor lay out to make the suit. I will post pixs and all credits to you and Dung0bettle for your guys hard work and skilled pep. files. again thank you without you and others that make it possible for us cosplay fans. Robert.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

K got it downloaded. Thanx!

I didn't understand why you were asking me for the files, but now I do! I assumed everyone had Pep Designer. And now that you have it, you can just plug in my numbers and pep to your heart's content!

found out an easy way. If you're using the designer go to 2D menu > Change Scale > Scale Factor: then on the window that pops out you'll see H (height) - W (width) - D (depth). I went back to measure, for example my arm- measured from my wrist to an inch over my shoulder, which was 538mm - then I just entered that value to Height. I did this with Robo's arm file with an original height of 585.

Yea. each piece has an invisible box around it. So, you don't measure youself, but measure how big you think the piece should be when it is on you (in millimeters).
For instance: correct me if I'm wrong, straight scaling won't work with the boot, because it's an exploded piece (it is also measuring the gaps between the soles and shoe).

Also, the files are set to A4 paper. So if you are using 8 1/2"x11" you need to change the paper settings or use Frog's files or all your pieces will be too small.

So one last question.. if i scale each individual piece, will everything fit together?

Also is there a way to tell which way is the width, depth, and height on the 3d view?

another example: if you want to scale the file that has the whole arm, you can't measure your straight arm and get the right scale. you need to bend your arm the same way it is bent in the file and measure from the highest point to the lowest point - vertical (not from shoulder to wrist).

It looks like Robo set everything up as you would think. top to bottom is height. left side of body to right side of body is width and front of body to back of body is depth.

Everyone is different. Ex: My wife and I are the same height, but when we sit down, I'm over an inch taller. My torso is longer or her legs are longer.

So if you want it to fit comfortably, you'd scale (or fine tune) every piece. And each change should be some-what similar (ratio-wise) to each other.

Some pieces needed to be scaled together, like the chest, back, brace and collar pieces. Those pieces needed to be scaled by a '"factor" to ensure proper scaling.

EDIT: Now that I've typed this, I'm not sure if Robo reset the H,W,D for the individual arm pieces...they might be still set in the "Full Arm" location (I haven't made those files yet). That might be your problem.

EDIT AGAIN: I went though most of the files and noticed that the Forearm is still on the angle of the "arm file", but everything else should be normal (except: hands are flat and hand plates are vertical).

Files always open in the same way (you are always looking at the front/left). Look at the chest file for proper H,W,D.

I'm sure Robo will clear it up for us.

are robo's files already letter or are they landscape? been working on shark's helm for the past couple days (almost done and will get pics when i am)

so as long as I set the printer to print A4, it will print to the scaling it should be not smaller? Correct?
