@ Frog,

Robo has not made the neck seal yet.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

how tall are you?
I know Robo's default scales are around 25.?? and he's 6'. I'm using 23.2 - 24 (peneding on part) and I'm 5'8".

I'm not 6' but like, my dimensions somehow end up being bigger on the arms and palm

I was thinking of using 24 as my scale, but it is definatly too small for the hand palms! im going to probably be using a different scale for every piece, except of course the pieces that have to fit together! like the whole torso!

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 11/6/10 Pics of my pepped arm on page 2!

hmm...i'll wait until i see the pics before i make my final suggestion but the arm is designed to sit quite high on your arm, so push it up as far as it will comfortably go and see how it is then.....

otherwise you might have to trim a little off the top and out of the scoop on the side to make it fit better.....

i'll have pictures soon to show how the whole arm (shoulder bells and all) looks together.....

EDIT: here are the pics.......not the best quality, it was late and just before i went to bed and the lighting in my room is terrible.....also note the extreme need for a shave and a haircut....lol

Hey robo, where exactly is your elbow in this pic? I would like to know for scaling purposes. im measuring my arm but not sure how far up that forearm piece goes up

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

umm...see the elbow piece? the point of my elbow is sitting towards the top of that

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

one thing to remember about the finger pieces guys and girls... you might want to scale a bit bigger based on your base glove... i did one finger, felt it was too large, and then did both hands at a smaller scale, and they fit perfectly... over my bare hand... I put my base glove on... and whoops they no longer fit... neither did the default scale, so i am making them bigger. :)

Just a heads up :D

holy resize batman!...lol....

it looks as though the chest piece is pretty much the right size....

in other news I should be modeling the spine, neck seal and thigh extensions this week sometime....

spent the last couple of days reacquainting myself with my 3d sculpting....i'd sadly neglected it for a few months and was terrified when i couldn't do it at first...lol....but all is well now and i seem to have mysteriously improved.....

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

@ nick ok ill try that method for the suit since i need it to be harder than the helm..

btw i'm finishing varnishing the helm & the experiment turned out great. I'll get on priming it tomorrow then pill put a layer of wood dough. hope it goes well. oh yea i nearly forgot i finished pepping the chest & right arm..but im unsure if it's supposed to go that big or not..should i rescale it? haven't taken pictures of it yet,btw im 5'7 and it looks pretty big for my arm.. thanks

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

well hunted ALL over and it seems that im going to have to have my pep files out sourced by some one - any one willing to print up a set for me? kinkos said they could do it but WAY more than i can afford...

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - feet coming this weekend!

alrighty, here's a little peek......its still all one piece at the moment, still modeling the sole (the details at the front that are missing will be a part of the sole)

i reckon there's about 3 inches of lift in the heel in these babies....

LOVIN the boot robo! Just DLed it and it looks great. What I would prefer to do with the soles is harden them and cast them in resin for a stronger piece that won't wear as easily as the hardened paper would. Also, since you make a mold for the soles, it's as simple as recasting them should they ever break or wear out. That's my plan, hope it works out, I'll be wearing them when I go shopping for a laugh.:lol

Wow! I haven't been keeping up with this tread for a while (new job is keeping me busy), but some AMAZING work posted! Robo, thanks for the feet, they looked simple, but now that I've started build 'em . . . .

I've been watching this thread with great interest and Robo, I must say that you are doing an amazing job at modeling and unfolding these 3DS files! I am currently assembling the helmet but can't wait to see the spine and neck seal next week! Thanks for doing this and keep up the good work!

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

Has anyone been thinking of methods to light up the eyes? What have you come up with?
I had an idea that when the faceplace was up, the eyes weren't lit, but when it closes, the eyes turn on. Something along the lines of when it's closed, it makes a complete circuit for the electricity to light the eyes. Anyone care to elaborate/perfect my idea?

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - foot in first post-details last page

in another topic, i have a question here... whats the order of the crafting here?
*Pepping
*Resin the outside
*Fiberglass the inside
*Bondo
*Detailing
*Paint?

i've seen some people does actually make molds and stuff, do you guys just use the pep/bondo to create the mold and then just cast it on Liquid Plastic?

That's about it.

Here is my Robo-shoulder with the new red. It still needs fine sanding and a few more coats of paint, but I'm going on vacation and wanted to see what you guys think of the color.
