Rey - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Build (open for everyone!)

No pattern needed.
18" wide
Length should be from end up over opposite shoulder and down to loop.
Seam then up and over to the other end.

Length will depend on your ht.

Thanks! So when you say "Seam then up and over to the other end" do you mean I sew the pieces together where they overlap across her chest and stomach? Sorry, very new to this whole sewing thing. Thanks!

I spoke to him on FB today and he said that he hasn't been on any of the boards because he has been busy taking care of his Dad, but that he is now filling the last of his orders. He said that he has two staff kits ready to ship on Monday if anybody needs one.

Thank you so much. I will contact him. I hope everything is okay with him and his family.
I wont need the staff until April for MegaCon so I don't need to rush.

On the left side the fabric loops and goes back up. (below the knee)
The seam (2 pieces spliced together) is at that bottom loop.

After having looked at some close up photos of the cuff and watching the video again.. I'm pretty sure that the video above is NOT done correctly. Hmm....

Anyone else got an actual "how to" on how to do the cuff?

These appear to have been done differently.

Pretty pleased with the results. The lighter color is a little too light for my taste, so I'll go back and see what other scraps I can find that might be more specific.

The leather that wraps around really can't be any thicker than about 2mm or it doesn't bend well.

Hello, new person here! I've secretly been following this thread for ages and it's amazing so thank you all for all your hard work!!

I went into town today and found these bandages at Boots (sorry if you're not from the UK) and i found them perfect for Rey's arm wraps. Even better than the Ace bandages in my opinion. They are a little frayed at the edges which adds a nice effect and they probably only need a little weathering and then they'll be perfect.

They're 'cotton crepe' bandages if that helps at all.

Also what is everyone using for their trouser fabric? I found the Dharma raw silk to be a bit too stiff and nubby and i'm struggling to find anything else appropriate.

Whats the general consensus for the belts thread reinforcement/accents? Waxed thread, rawhide thread, or suede/leather cord? I'm leaning towards the waxed stuff, in some photos you can kind of make out the twist and shine you get with the waxed stuff.

Thread.
I used non waxed (the leather work thread I used for the backpack) and dyed it the color I needed.
Went through each hole twice (that's what it looked like they did)

I did and they also included a guide as to where each screw goes. I haven't really done anything with it yet since I've been out of town. i'll post pics of i as I go
