Rey - Star Wars: The Force Awakens Build (open for everyone!)

Whew. Just finished reading everything. Everyone here is so amazing, thank you all so much for working hard to find things for everyone. For every costume I make, I splurge on one item. I'm trying to decided if that will be the staff kit or the boots. Maybe I missed it in the shuffle somewhere but has any one posted a list of hardware store parts they've used for the staff?

There is someone who is selling the 3D plans for the staff and depending on the printer you choose to use you might be able to get it printed and built for less than $75. So I would splurge on the boots before splurging on the staff

Yes! Now that you mention it I remember seeing that. Whew, now to try to find that post again. Haha

So I just received my signal satchel in the mail- currently letting it air out! I'm pretty sure I saw on here someone mentioned how to get some of the writing off the bag but I've been looking through and can't find it :( There's just a tiny bit of writing on the top, not bad, but if anyone has a good technique for removing it I'd appreciate it!

OMG you guys are amazing. I started at the first page and finally made it to the end. I'm looking to make her costume for MegaCon coming up in May.

Below are some things I found to help you complete your costume without having to make. (Sorry if it has been posted already. There was a lot of reading.)

Her leather cuff

Her belt

The doll that was spotted in her place

The NN-14 Blaster

After reading everything, I seem to miss the link of where some of you bought the bag and modified into hers. That will be much appreciated.

Is there also a link where I can by the 3D print of her staff?

Mahalo plenty

not sure if you mean the authentic signal satchel, but this is the bag i used:

has anyone here purchased one of these? Wondering how the quality is and if the size is accurate.

Im confused about the bags too. Maybe I'm getting my Reys mixed up but she has 2 bags? One on her hip and a carry bag? To be honest I have been putting off thinking out the bag because I wanted to figure out the different parts first but I saw this one and thought that maybe it could be altered for the hip bag.

Please correct me if its way off, too big, wrong color. I do everything from my phone and I get confused. :)

I remember a while back someone mentioned maybe using these pants. I'm wondering if they did and how it turned out? I keep going back and forth wondering if they'll need to be dyed, did we decide if the pants are grey or tan?

I purchased these pants. They are one size fits all and on the smaller side, so if you are slender and average height, they would work, but I'm not sure I'd recommend them. They are a bit clingy. The fabric is soft and silky, but I don't think it is right. The fabric on hers seems rougher. Her actual pants seem to be a greyish tan color. I would recommend getting beige or white and dying it.

I cruised through some of your pics on Twitter! Everything is looking really great! Nice job!

Thank you! The bracer and belt were my first time working with leather in, oh, twenty-five years or so, so I'm pretty pleased they came out as well as they did. The tabards are a little too tan, but I can fix that. ;) I'm tickled with my bag and staff strap for a total of $20 at the surplus store.

Next up? The shirt, pants, and arm wraps!

Thanks again!

Which dye did you use? The pearl grey? I'm average height with a 30 waist. Maybe not a great fit for me. I'll keep looking. Thank you so much for the tip!

I have got to get to the surplus store! It's about 40 minutes from me so I'm hoping to get a full shopping list set aside so I only have to go once and hope I can get it all. I can't wait to see your whole costume when you finish it. It's going to look great.
