Okay....
So another from run #4 has flaked, and so I've adjusted everyone up another spot.
This is putting me in a quandry.... how many people are sitting on my waiting lists actually not wanting my goggles anymore? I mean, I don't find out until i ask for payment, and then they just say "Ah...no thanks. I don't want them now.:"
WTF.
This is exactly the reason why I have:
A. Not taken money up front... because i don't want someone having to put their money out and them wait and wait. i also don't want to have to send a bunch of refunds because people have become fickle.
B. Have worked my hiney off to get the runs finished and shipped quickly and together...so that everyone has what they paid for in a timely fashion.
C. Have posted regular pictorial updates so that everyone sees progress and still feels engaged in the project.
So I dunno.... what do i do now...? Just continue to ask for the next person in line to pay for what they spoke for, and just *hope* that eventually one of them actually does? I know this is sounding very like a rant...and I apologize for that. Up till now, everyone--and I mean EVERYONE--has been right there to pay their share when I've asked. So why now, all of a sudden? I mean, I've done things the exact same way as before...and anyway I've got run #4 going much sooner than even I had anticipated. You would think those on the list would be thrilled to be getting their turn sooner.
I suppose that's a bit unfair... 3/4 of the run#4 crowd paid me the very first day I'd asked. It's been the other 1/4 which has turned into a revolving game of don't respond/don't want anymore and I keep advancing people from later lists (thinking they will be delighted to get their chance sooner) and instead I keep getting either no responses or declines.
I have half a mind to ask everyone remaining on a wait list to respond here that they do in fact still want goggles, and possibly to ask for a deposit. I *hate* to do that... I know everyone else does, and this is probably why.
Perhaps being the nice girl isn't the best approach...?
OK... rant over.
Now, let's see what I've been working on instead...
A new Army is being raised! I have primary construction complete on the entire run, and have cut out the pigskin as well. Tonight it will be on to stitching and installation of the hard parts.
Speaking of stitching...
A bit ago,
Westies14 mentioned that i might want to adjust my stitching to look a bit more screen accurate. I whipped up this pattern... what do you all think?
Here's a comparison from run #3:
It's a subtle difference...and it takes much longer to do it this way, as instead of being able to use a four hole punch tool I have to punch each hole individually. But if the overall look is more correct, I'd rather take the time and make it look better.
