I'm not really a fan of steampunk pistols or rayguns, but that is looking incredible! Loving it! :cool
How do you plan on tackling the grip, do you have a found item in mind, or something you're going to make yourself?
This is really taking off, nice work!:thumbsup
For the grip, could you bend some 1/8" x 1/2" (or whatever) bar stock into the profile of the grip, and then use wood panels on each side? You'd need to put a shoulder inside to keep it in place. Run the screws into coupling nuts from both sides to keep it all together. My illustration doesn't show it, but you could put a mounting ear on each end of the brass strap.

Man, you're a one-man Weta competin' machine!

LOL!
Ok man, don't make me spill the beans about the custom carrying case I'm gonna make for the gun.
And now that I think about it, the gun may need a holster...And a holster is not good without a belt. Or pants, and a shirt, and maybe a jacket, some goggles, a pith helmet, and boots, a rocket pack, a space ship...

Great job...Kev :coolAbsolutely amazing!thumbsup I love the imagination and ingeniuity!! :love
For something that cool, and old-school...
I hate to do it, but I have to go the cypress route. Expensive, yes. Durable? oh, hell yes.
Amazing work!!!
Both the artwork/picture and "the real thing" are bloody fantastic! Well done and thanks for sharing the progress pics.
Hope you don't mind a question/opinion.
Are you planning on keeping the vial/test tube as is? I think it'd look even better with some sort of brass wire protective 'cage' around it.
