Repaint of "Art Asylum" galactica

A few years ago i bought Art Asylums galactica ,while the model is decent the paint job was horrible, so i redid the paint job on it in a season 4 battle damage paint scheme here's some pictures of it.

Damn impressive! Can you tell us how you simulated the damage and battle scaring? Did you use something like a soldering iron or a magnifying glass for the battle damage scaring?
