Re: Redtogusas Amazing Spiderman Costume using McL34Ns pattern.

I like the darkness on it just like the movie this only makes me want a costume more

Re: Redtogusas Amazing Spiderman Costume using McL34Ns pattern.

How's everything coming along? When is the party?

Redtogusa-
I am sorry if I've missed this but...
For the blue octagons are you going to use black only Tulip?
Or a blue black mixture?
I thought everyone was doing straight black until recently.

If you look really closely at the screenshots of the ASM suit you'll see the blue areas are a very dark blue-black. I would just mix in a couple of drops of black tulip slick 3-d paint to their dark blue.

Re: Redtogusas Amazing Spiderman Costume using McL34Ns pattern.

Well mate I was in the same boat as you until I read one of McL34N's posts. I thought it was just the black but a mix sounds better so I'll be going for that.

Party is tomorrow.....think I may be pulling an all nighter tonight.

I still don't see why you're drawing it on when you could make a sheet of honeycomb pattern with latex in less than 5 minutes. It doesnt have to be as hard as you're making it.

Mainly because I don't have the resources to do so mate. This method is far cheaper, guaranteed to work, flexible for those tough areas. Plus surely you'd have to make a new pattern for every section as nearly every section is different. That sounds more time consuming in the long run.

Agreed. Doing the puff paint isnt hard its just time consuming and I think the end result will look much better. Theres to much chance for things to go wrong with the other method, namely bunching the fabric up and altering the fit if it isnt done correctly. Latex is also hot as hell.

Re: Redtogusas Amazing Spiderman Costume using McL34Ns pattern.

When I get my print I'm gonna do it all by hand. It sounds like a daunting task that will take FOREVER but like you said, it'll be better in the long run because I imagine it'll look neater because you get every where spot on!

Re: Redtogusas Amazing Spiderman Costume using McL34Ns pattern.

Right, so it's still not finished to where I want it to be for tomorrow but I thought I'd go ahead and take some pics anyway. This is the last chance I'll get to take decent pics in a relaxed atmosphere before the mayhem that will be tomorrow.

Still got some stuff to finish before tomorrow, some paint I did yesterday didn't dry enough so peeled off when I put it on so I have to redo those parts. I hope they dry properly this time.

cheers guys.

I seriously can't believe how good you've made that test suit look! The thing I love about it is that it has this very real Peter Parker vibe to it. Great job!
