Recasters strike again

Well after some effort in making my iron man and war machine helmets.
I have found out that a Recaster is selling copies of a helmet i sold him

iron man 2,war machine helmet,1:1 scale.lifesize bust on eBay (end time 25-Jul-10 21:16:04 BST)

This is a recast of my war machine helmet that i sold to the seller, he has advised he is going to recast and sell it .And advises there is nothing i can do about it...nice eh?

also 21 pounds? its that like 20 bucks??? he losing a ton on this. prolly what 300 or so for material to recast it, not including the i'm assuming 100 or so to buy it from you...

Dude that sucks. I know here in the states, ebay frowns upon unlicenced replicas being sold on.their site. Maybe you could notify ebay of this auction and they might pull it.
Just a thought, sorry to hear your stuff got recasted.

What are some of the key features of this helm that we need to know is a recast of your original? Did you alter it ever so slightly so you can ID a recast of your work? Did you sign the exterior or mark it with some imprint?

Just curious so we can keep an eye out!

yeah i have the original sculpt and can take any pics from any angle.
lots of points to compare but if he has primed them then it will cover the most obvious ones.
no worries i will move on to my next project :love

Copyright is AUTOMATIC!
There is no such thing as "selling coppies with no copyright"... As soon as you create a piece of art, you own the copyright to it.
If your art is a representation of someone else's intellectual property, then you own the copyright to your interpretation of it - And while it may not be legal for you to make money from it without permission from the intellectual rights holder, it's also illegal for anyone else to copy it without your permission.
