Rambo First Blood Props

It would be "Covey Leader to Raven".

What is a covey? A family or small flock of birds, especially partridge or quail.

Therefore, each of those soldiers having their own call sign, and in this case inferred to be bird names, ......

When I was in Basic Training the only pass we got in the first 8 weeks was a Company wide field trip to the base theater to see First Blood.

Great stuff. :)

It was so magical but surreal at the same time pal. The junkyard and Delmar Berry (intro) property locations are very eerie.

Fantastic stuff. I need to go watch the movie again.
I just did last Monday. What a mans movie. :thumbsup It has everything except romance but it's not your typical 80's action film. I love everything about First Blood. I'm pretty much interested in anything to do with this film so please keep up the good stuff, Raven.

Will do pal.

Im getting the junkyard truck steering wheel cased soon, with a screen grab of Sly standing next to it, as soon as its done, i will post pics. The quote is £150-£200 for the case and screen grab, which isnt bad, as I didnt pay anything for the steering wheel, apart from £60.00 for the shipping from BC.

Cool thread, and i agree, the best work Stallone has ever done, "Rocky" being a close second. John J's meltdown at the end, still brings a tear to the eye i must admit, moving stuff from Mr S.

Heres the steering wheel from the junk yard dump truck. lasersolutions have quoted me £150-£200 + VAT to mount in a perspex case with a few screen caps, so I had better start saving.

Awesome web site! I've wanted to know where the film was made for years.

I never thought when I was a kid, that I would ever get to go to these places, let alone go to the junkyard or the Delmar berry property, and now at the age of 36, take a bit of that film back home with me, all the way back to the UK, its definitely unbelieveable, and thats only thanks to my friends Scott and Herve, who made this all possible. :)

Great thread! What an absolutely awesome find. Can't wait to see the steering wheel mounted and displayed. One of my all time favorite movies. ..all he wanted was something to eat!

Thanks for the thanks guys. Heres a couple of vids I took on my phone, the quality isnt brilliant, but I just wanted people to see our reaction seeing the junkyard for the first time. The other vids are of the Delmar Berry property, where we first see Rambo walking into shot at the start of the movie, and talks with the widow who is hanging out her washing. Notice the building (an old garage) Stallone walks past has now collapsed, but the tree that she hangs her washing by is still there, but rotting pretty bad, and the outhouse is there too. Enjoy.

I love location visit pics! Good stuff! :thumbsup

Something I think of every time I watch First Blood is seeing it in the theater with my dad when it first opened. The theater was packed, Rambo starts stitching his arm, the blood is running down...two girls get up from the audience, leave and don't come back. Haha! They missed a great movie!

No problem guys! Im still trying to rack my brains on how to have the steering wheel display. All i know, is that I want it in a perspex case, mounted on the wall with a still of stallone and the wheel. Im also wondering if there are any other places in the UK that could do a cheaper display, as £150-£200 plus VAT seems a little steep to me, any ideas guys?

I don't know about pricing but have you contacted Propstore? They have a lot of their pieces put into displays.

I say do it yourself. I did this one by myself and it turned out pretty well, I think. It's a piece of the Flying Wing from Raiders of the Lost Ark which I mounted with screen caps from the film which are mounted on black press board and given a slight 3D effect by also being mounted on pieced of small foam on the back.
