Question about Thea Queen/Speedy

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread so feel free to move it :)

Sooo, I've got a question I'm hoping you guys will be able to help me with please :) I'm looking at purchasing a Thea Queen/Speedy costume, and so far the only seller I've found is ProCosplay. They have sales threads on ebay, amazon, and a couple other places. What I'm wondering is, have any of you ever ordered anything from this seller before? Aside from the eye mask, the costume appears to be very accurate and of good quality. It doesn't come with boots, but that's okay cause I'd prefer to purchase them separately anyway.

So, thoughs? Opinions?

Thanks :)

Doesn't look too bad, actually. I find these overseas cheap costumes(and trust me, that price is cheap!) usually need a bit of work, but at least are a good starting point. Just be careful-you say it appears to be of good quality-it isn't normally, it's cheap vinyl and plastic typically. But, all that being said, it doesn't seem too bad, as I said. Weigh out the pros and cons, see what else is out there, and make an informed decision when all is said and done. Good luck:)

Thanks Looch!

It's just difficult to find anyone selling her costume, this is the only vendor I've found so far. About the quality, I definitely see your point about the price being low, but on the listing it says real leather. Maybe that's not true then? I'd rather wait and save for a good costume than buy something cheaper now and have it fall apart lol. Would even love to try making it myself cause I feel like that would be super fun, but I haven't done anything aside from armour and a bit of basic sewing/quilting, and this is quite different.

The costume probably isn't getting a lot of love because she just started wearing it about 2 months ago (when Season 4 started). I am guessing more versions of it will show up next year when con season rolls around.

Like Looch said, it looks like a great base off of which to build, but will definitely require some modifications. As for "real leather" I would argue you might not want that. That will be a heavy, hot costume, not to mention expensive as hell to commission or make by hand, and unless you intend to be doing stunts in the costume, you really don't need real leather (since the only thing it really adds is durability). But far be it for me to tell anyone what costume they want or how to make it. If you are serious about having a high quality Speedy costume, and don't feel confident enough to build it yourself, I would save up and commission it!

Thanks for chiming in, Vox!

Currently I'm only halfway done watching season two, so I didn't realize the costume was that new (I knew it existed though cause I came across a picture of it on a facebook fan page a couple weeks ago). That makes sense though, cause when I researched for reference pictures I couldn't find a single one of anyone cosplaying in it. Yeah, hopefully around con season more people will wear it.

About the leather, I think the really thin stuff used for clothing might be okay, and I know if I had this base suit to use as a pattern I could probably sew it myself. I really would like to make it myself cause it's way more fun that way, so I think I'm probably going to buy this suit and then upgrade it over time. It doesn't have to be screen accurate and high quality right away, but that will the goal for the next year and a bit. Eventually the costume will be completely homemade, if this plan works anyway lol. We'll see! So that's my idea :) And you're right about real leather being hot and heavy that's why I *think* the thinner stuff will be okay, definitely wouldn't use the type that motorcycle jackets and stuff are made from!

Thanks for the tips :)
