I don't know the answer to that, but it looks cool and I want one.
True, and as I said, mine's not perfect . It just looks more the part than the QMX ring. The over long lower point on the largest star, the fact that the "dots" closest to the large stars seem to touch them, and the realy close five lines on the sides of the ring, not to mention that the QMX ring is almost perfectly round when both the screen used ring and mine are more of an oval. Add to all of that the fact that the QMX ring is one size, then add to that it's silver plated brass to boot, and you end up with one realy halfassed product.
I know Trekkies who were waiting for this ring and were hoping for a nice, accurate, wearable product. This isn't it.

And now CT's horde will descend on this thread and crucify everybody who says something nice about the QMx. Look, I can predict the future, what a spectacle.
You know, I'm a Celestial Toymaker supporter and i think this look brilliant. :rolleyes
IF they do make the production piece as good as this prototype and IF it has sound and IF they keep the price at the estimated $200 mark I will buy one. I'm still buying my CT version as well but if this license holder will do as great a job as they seem to want to do I think it will be great. I hold out hope that they will but I have to think that a couple years ago MFX promised many of the same things. Not being a nay sayer, just saying is all. It'll be great if they do though.
I've visited serveral times with Karl Derrick from the UK at the QMx booth about the Sonics. He's the guy that has developed them and the farnsworth.
Plans for this are really open to fan input, which is a nice thing about QMx I think.
While initially saying no sound, they have heard and read the feedback and say though a challenge due to limited room inside, they will do sound. Vibration if any will be a by product of that.
They are shooting for a $200 price point on this and the Matt Smith piece they will be showing at Dragoncon.
I was also told to expect River Songs Library Sonic and the Masters Laser Sonic.
Great! If anything we got them to add sound that is awesomeAnd really if Celestial Toystore can add sound to that size I have confidence that QMx can
Look forward to their other stuff, hopefully it all works out for them. I love the look of this sonic and the price is awesome!
As for the CT stuff...
He makes a great sonic screwdriver, yes. Good customer service? Sure...but Customer services does not stop at customers only. Cyber-stalking, bullying and hacking into peoples facebook and email accounts to try and show how much power or better they are...way not cool, and was the final straw for me. I will never purchase from him.
Yeah, not MY ring, my ring as in I wear it. LOL
John
I think that last comment about the account hacking is unfair. You could never prove it was him and I think that it's really slanderous of you to hold on to that considering the blog post that was made saying how wrong even he thought it was. Unless you have some other proof on that I think you should leave that out.

Isn't it funny how people now want a sound chip when they said one of the reasons they didn't want it with the MFX replica 'cos the original TV prop didn't have sound!
Bottom line is I guess they did want sound all along but cos they were wrong about CT they tied themselves up in knots with nonsensical reasons not to buy from him especially when they realised they'd been sold a dud from MFX! Oh make life easy for yourselves guys buy CT's no ones gonna think badly of you!![]()
