Props in Home Design and Architecture

I have been thinking of an office/prop room for our next house. I have started to draw up plans. We are thinking of building here in two years.

Basically the corner will have Vader's Isolation chamber, at least 3/4 of it, housing my desk and computer. It will function up and down with a switch.

The other half of the room will Have cutouts for my helmet collection and my 3 Mannequin Display of the ESB Promo shot.

I just hope it becomes reality.

My current office has a diesel punk style (Slightly futuristic 1940's noir style).
Greyish blue wall paint (complimented with touches of deep red and yellowish orange ) along with retro style movie posters with spotlights, vintage style accessories (phone, desk lamp, garbage can) and of course my display cases.

If you're interested in cool designs (Steampunk or not) my suggestion is for you to look up video game concept art for interior environments.
Also keep in mind that , along with the paint job, the right lighting color makes a world of difference.

Anyhow, here are some concepts from Bioshock , which i think would look pretty pretty cool in a display room.

This is very helpfull, thanks guys, keep them coming.

I would love to have copies of the paintings of past "League" member from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I have never seen good enough screen caps thou.

i too have some FLW tiles thanks to Sapper. I am looking to add some details to our house as we are doing a remodel. I don't know if they will end up in my office or in the house.

I am about to do some remodeling and I was wondering if anyone here has incorporated prop or movie designs into their home. I am not talking about the starwars display. or life sized statues but more like acheitectural aspects from movies and TV, or props used as design aspects. I would love any ideas or pictures of similar designs. I am also in love with the Steampunk concept in design and architecture.

One of the things I am doing is having all the window sills replced with hardwood and stained, I would like to have some supernatural-esque protection symbols cnc'd into them.

I would love to get a hold of one of those blade runner tiles as well.

Here's my 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea home theater.

I'm so happy to see this thread. I joined so I could get involved
with this topic and share my ideas .

Recently I inherited a home and living here it's needing to have
the original design supported. Since 1945 the two families who
lived here, the original owner and my parents missed, nearly
totally, the theme of the home. It's Japanese and yet you ask
why do I look here?

Many of the valuable themes in The Stargates shows contain
elements useful in the Japanese themes. Colors, especially,
in Atlantis are similar to Japanese themes with the deep green
and light brown wood.

I hope I can contribute to this topic and my goal to create themes
in my home worthy of a 'real' home.. Not a theater scene.

If you'd like to help it would be useful, if it's allowed, to share
urls of other sites that contain colorful useful themes that might
be construed to contain Japanese elements. Then I'll do my
best to show where in Atlantis and SG-1 the Japanese theme
shows itself.

Thank you.

WOW love that Sparrow room! We are currently building a home theater/bar in our basement...the theater will be Haunted Mansion themed and the Bar will be pirate themed...you have provided great inspiration.

A Pirate Ship Theater..........

This one is a little over the top, but scaled back to something Average Joe Citizen could afford, would be nice.

With a 5-year old and a 20 month old I am sure my future will filled with project themed builds. Unfortunately not having any extra room it is impossible to create a home theater as I would like so it will have to remain a home theater / toy room.

Errr... I know this is probably stupid sounding..... But how large are these Home Theatre rooms you are talking about?

One of my favorite kind of threads...

Love the Sparrow windows. Very effective.

This year I plan on adding some small wall modifications (~2-4" deep), paint the walls grey-ish with detailing, add some pipes/hose, and top it off with some ceiling modifications similar to SGU.

Furniture can really add to the effect though it will require custom work or acquisition from studios/auction houses. The large set pieces are often quite cheap if you're not paying for shipping.

I've been thinking about how to integrate SciFi doors/hatches but its going to be a big deal so remains on the "next house" list.
