Prometheus (Post-release)

I bought the Digital copy via itunes earlier today.

Not desperate to see it again but wanted to listen to the extended dialogue between the engineer and shaw.

Long and short of it, there is no extended dialogue that i can tell.

The deleted scene just has weyland talk longer and the engineer looks able to understand English.

basically weyland just says how great he is and therefore deserving to live forever, then the engineer kills david and the rest you know.

What a letdown.

I had thought there was extended dialogue between the engineer and shaw before she set the trilobite on him.

I got on my XBOX 360 today after class, which I seldom ever do, and to my suprise, there was a Prometheus add, which had a 10 minute clip from the movie (the hypersleep wake-up scene, to where Vickers talks to Shaw and her loverboy inside the lifeboat), then they had an "exclusive" deleted scene, where Vickers talks to Weyland, where the "a king has his reign, then he dies" dialogue take place. There's 2 gaurds at his door, and it was also sort of weird to hear the strange "squishing" noises of the orange piped suits....

They also had severl featurettes, like Vicker's character, as well as David's character, talking about how each character developed,etc. Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender sat infront of a table which held severl props, including 6 of the black good vases, a scanning "pup", and few other items which looked medical related. I watched all of them, pretty cool overall, considering it was on my new flatscreen.

One new thing I noticed was the fact that the crazy red headed scientist had a Weyland tank top on:

And the wing patch on Janek's first jacket looked significantly bigger than other patches. I'd assume it's 4 inches long (TWSS).

Hopefully someone offers large ones. I'd love to see Tiberius Kirk offer these larger ones as well!

Am I reading that wrong, or is there a 3 1/2 hour documentary with the 3D blu only? What's up with that?

That's kinda what it looks like. I'll be buying the 3D version in any event, but I wonder why something like that would be exclusive.. almost seems like a marketing ploy from Fox to artificially inflate the 3D Blu-ray sales numbers, by forcing folks to buy that version even if they otherwise wouldn't.

this may have been mentioned before in this thread, (ive not looked), but at the end of this film you see the big bald dude attack the human in the survival module. well in the film Alien, he still strapped in the 'drivers seat' of the alien craft with a hole in his chest. did i miss something? don't get me wrong i thought the film was epic, just this little bit didn't add up???

I didn't know there was going to be a 4 disk special edition though. I assumed that would be the 3D release, which would include a version of each variety of media.

settle down beavis........ i can see how people get the movies mixed up.

i honestly think that ridley could have made this movie without any connections to the original alien movies, but the fact that he did, takes the movie from good to great.

When I saw the title "Arrival of the Engineers" I was expecting to see something concerning an arrival and with engineers in it.

When I saw the title "Arrival of the Engineers" I was expecting to see something concerning an arrival and with engineers in it.

The original title of that scene was "Paradise Found" but halfway through naming all the deleted scenes they decided they wanted the deleted scenes to work as standalone deleted scenes. They brought in Damon Lindelof to give fresh new titles to the deleted scenes...and here we are.
