Predators - Royce Costume

I would strongly recommend going with the Coyote shirt.

If you look back a page, the Topps knife can be screwed into the sheath with no damage to the knife.

I don't have a solution yet for the machete since I haven't picked one of those up yet.

For Comic Con I picked up a super cheap 1911 springer... but will be getting a nicer and more accurate airsoft once I actually have some money again.

With the shotgun shells... I cut them in half with a pipe cutter and then poured out all the powder and shot. I taped them back together. The primers are still in them... I just don't have the heart to walk around with primers with dimples in them. Wish I could find some good fake shells.

ill be making some fake shotgun shells casted from a real one. they will most likely be resin i just got done casting it today :D

When attaching the shell panels I have been using two long plastic mallice clips on each panel. Anyone have any other ideas that might work better for securing panels to the chest?

I used four zip ties at the corners. I believe that is what is used in the movie although I believe mallice clips would actually hold it better.

So awesome! Art's wife Star Wars Chick just bought him the screen-used stunt AA-12 shotgun from the Prop Store booth at SDCC !!!! Your costume looks great! :thumbsup

Did the AA-12 drum actually fit in the drum pouch? How much did the stunt aa-12 actually cost? Post a full body pic too. I weighed my costume and with the pistol, machete and shells, and of course the clothing I am over 40 pounds.

Now the million dollar question. Was it worth it?

The drum from the replica AA12 Morgan13 made for me does detach from the gun, but I haven't used it to see how close the drum pouch is in size.

I don't know what Star Wars Chick paid for the screen used AA-12. It was a gift. She didn't say. I didn't ask.

I didn't have the machete on. It was the only piece I still need, but 40 pounds seems really heavy! For me, this is the lightest and most comfortable costume I have ever worn.

Was it worth it? To get to troop with my wife and actually have quite a few people recognize who I was? Heck yes!!! I have become increasing frustrated with my replicas over the years because I can never get them to look like I want. This costume is somewhat unique because so many of the parts are found items. It makes the costume much more acceptable to me because I know it is about as accurate as it can get!

Our boy is all grown up now. *sniff sniff*

That is really cool. I had contacted THE PROP STORE several weeks ago and they actually had two of the AA-12's that were used in the movie. I just got off the phone with them and they still have the $2995.00 dollar prop sitting in their L.A. store but you snagged the other one. LUCKY YOU !!! No way I am going to drop three thousand on a prop and be forced to fill out special paperwork just to add an item to my outfit. Looks like I will be paying someone to craft me one. Almost done.

I have really enjoyed this thread, it has inspired me to put together my own costume, so far I have everything exept the weapons, vest, boots and pouches. I'll have a go at sourcing the vest and pouches in Taiwan, the boots I'll have to go for a pair that closely match. The weapons I'll be sculpting myself (not much chance of getting them in China!), to Art, any chance of some measurements with pictures of your AA-12, your steel eagle and your machete? Thanks to everyone who put in to this most excellent of threads!:thumbsup (mind it has sidetracked me from my zillion other projects and given my Chinese wife a near breakdown, she just doesn't get it:lol)

Art, that's great that people recognized the character. I seem to remember at one point you were concerned they might not? Says a lot about the quality of your costume (and that maybe there's some love for Predators out there? Come on Nimrod, let's have that sequel!)

WONDERFUL and congrats to your stunt AA-12 AND your wife, who knew you´d appreciate this addition to your great outfit :thumbsup

The costume looks awesome! I'm amazed at everyone's attention to detail - right down to removing manufacturer's marks. Well done! Congrats on the stunt AA-12 as well :)

I am curious though, how did you find wearing that tactical belt? From wearing a similar belt with a Stargate outfit, the fact that it slouches down on the holster side would be somewhat annoying for me.

Not very cool.

Please, by all means explain in detail why I am not suppose to talk price in this forum? THE PROP STORE carried "TWO" of the AA-12 shotgun items.
One was the actual stunt AA-12 which can fire blanks and was made from an actual AA-12 and is $2995.00 dollars and requires specific paperwork just like buying a gun.
The second is the one Art's wife purchased and I did not state the price of his gift.
Perhaps this will clear up any confusion. So to anyone who wants to drop three grand on the ONLY STUNT AA-12 from the movie, it is still available.
