Almost finished the Pancor Jackhammer. I've always been fascinated with this weapon. I didn't realize it became so popular and sought after in video games. Was this the inspiration for the Aliens Pulse Rifle?

Cool model, I just watched the Forgotten Weapons video for this gun on Youtube. If you haven't seen any of his content, I highly recommend it, Ian is highly knowledgeable and has a great delivery.

I made some corrections to the Pancor Jackhammer and added locating pin holes for critical parts to ensure assembly is accurate. The drum magazine can turn, the selector lever can move, the trigger is movable and the charging handle can be moved forward and back to simulate cocking the prop.

Probably my creation that has gotten the most media attention: Mabel the T-Rex. She lives at Tampa Hackerspace in Tampa. She's entirely cardboard... except the teeth. Teeth used to also be cardboard but she bit someone so made her teeth foam.

Was watching a show where someone was using a giant t-rex skull as a nightstand. Started sculpting and someone said 'Go big or go home, do it full sized!' and I said 'Huh... alright then!'

Now she's too big to go home ^_^ She'd never fit in my house so she sees Makerfaires and I try and tell people you don't need to spend $40,000 to make something neat.

Damn TazMan2000 - I think I need to hire you to do some bayonet models for me. :)

Here are my feeble attempts at 3D modeling.

Monolith - Book Dimensions - my first 3D model after working a lot with 3D scans:

Then some Terminator Endoskeleton stuff - most of it is still WIP:

Not feeble at all. Actually quite good.

Drew me up and test printed a little 1:6 VK test carry case for my 1:6 Deckard to cart around.
Not sure on colour yet - black plastic or flight case silver?

Feeble in the sense that the models are all basic shapes. Nothing too fancy or challenging.

Granted that your stuff isn't overly complicated, but it looks like it takes into consideration mechanical movement.

It's one thing to create something that looks outwardly accurate to an object, but to incorporate mechanical movement is a skill that isn't common.
When 3D designing got popular, there were many talented people out there that managed to outwardly recreate real world objects and their textures, but many didn't take into account the internal structure or how parts mechanically interacted. Faces overlapped, and parts didn't mesh.

With the advent of 3d printing, I'm thinking this has stepped up the game. Now people want some sort of movement to their 3d prints, either to add interest or more realism.

Is Deckard a Petersen's? In the movie, the case was all in black. Here's the one I reproduced with my 1:1 V.K.

Oh lovely case!!! Is that based on any reference? (I didn’t dig deep, I just doodled mine)
The Deckard fig is a mash up custom of my own based on the Dark Toys Rick.
Thanks, here's the pic caps from the movie + behind the scene posted, years ago, on Propsummit.com;)
Great transfo on that figure; looks very sharp:cool:

Isn't there a newish feature in some slicers that let you add a texture to the surface of the print, without having to model it in. I seem to remember reading that. That would be perfect for that pebbly surface of that briefcase. Here are a few I could find so far. Not the one I remember. I'll try to find it.

Ah that's lovely! thanks for sharing those pics! I'll go back to my drawing board and amend slightly but now the colour will be black! :D Thanks!
You're welcome...and I did mine using blue insulation foam. Using rasps and hot wire to shape it. I put two coats of black rubber/asphalt finish on top. The wife was not happy with the smell lingering in the house for weeks:oops::whistle:
Btw; do you have pics of that small V.K.?
