Pluto TV

Perhaps I'm late to the party, but our tv came with Pluto TV already installed, and with dropping Hulu Live, I've been trying to find things to watch. It seems to be free, but I've so far found a Star Trek channel that just shows the original series remastered, and there is a More Star Trek channel which has been showing Deep Space Nine. These are on constantly and I assume they just rotate through the seasons continuously. There's a classic Dr. Who channel as well as an MST3K channel. Does anyone already familiar with Pluto TV have any other suggestions of channels that are worth checking out?

It depends on what you like. There's a Stargate channel, there's a regular sci-fi channel that rotates things like Sanctuary and Farscape, there's a Walking Dead channel, I mean, it goes on and on and on and on. There's also a ton of stuff on demand where you can watch entire series. We were doing classic Twilight Zone over Thanksgiving. There's also a Rifftrax channel. Check that one out. Just explore. Virtually anything you want is there somewhere.

I typically stick to Classic Dr. Who and Magellan. A lot of their movie channels just repeat the same movies multiple times a day so I don't bother with them.

Magellan plays a lot of history/science docs that I'm really fond of (some I'm surprised by as they're Youtube videos sometimes and I have no idea the legality behind that) and I watch Classic Who mostly for the first four Doctors. They do skip some stories, however, and they're not always played in order or sometimes repeats sporadically. I don't know who manages this but it keeps following the show for the stories a bit difficult.

Just FYI, there's a Roku app for MST3K's "Gizmoplex" now -- while they charge for the new stuff, the classic series is there to view for free.

Farscape is on The Roku channel, Freevee, and Pluto TV. Sanctuary is on Tubi. Both are on demand, so no waiting, ; )

The Shout TV channel plays a good mix of things. There is a Rifftrax channel as well.

They also just added a Top Gear channel.

Copied this from a thread I posted a while back. Some shows may have left.

Man from Atlantis it's on Tubi right now. Thought I was going to have to buy it on DVD .

Some others,

The original Flash tv series from the '90s.
The Thing John Carpenter version.
Logan's run tv series,
Both Battlestar series,
Buck Rogers
V - old and remake series.

Just found this on YouTube. I think it's a compilation of all the episodes into a movie. Used to watch this as a kid. Along with Space Academy.

It is a free service, but you pay with having to sit through very repetitive ads [many just pushing their own channels]. The advantage of registering for free is you can add channels as favorites which show up at the top of the channel line up and you get access to on-demand. There's a good "80's rewind" channel showing movies from that era. I like the "NFL re-airs" and MLB channels which show entire games [recent and from many years past] Also, T-mobile users get a weekly PlutoTV code to watch a selection of movies ad-free.

I've got it but it's hard to find on DVD

Some others,

The original Flash tv series from the '90s.

Got it on DVD.

The Thing John Carpenter version.

Have several versions of it.

Logan's run tv series,

Have it on DVD.

Both Battlestar series,

Have the only one I care about and it's not the new one.

Buck Rogers

Got it on DVD.

V - old and remake series.

Have the original and the mini-series. The new one wasn't worth it.
