Peter Vincent (Tennant) Large Pic

I think I'm going to see it on Wednesday, I'll try to get a real good look at it and then start looking when I get home.

Found this info on a website

Costume Designer Susan Matheson had great fun creating costumes for David Tennant’s character, illusionist Peter Vincent. For his stage-show look she designed a classic leather frock coat with an exaggerated collar. Then she gave him lots of rings on his fingers and some very tight, stretch leather pants with boots. For his vampire-fighting scenes, the look changed to another long leather coat with a revisionist 1980s feel, worn with a T-shirt, jeans and sneakers.

Thanks for the info. Based on that it seems the coats were custom
made for the production, so finding one will be nigh impossible.
Time to try and find a close enough I guess. A custom one would
be crazy expensive

Aww man, I like the whole costume except those shoes. The length of the coat is great, though.

yea, some kind of sneaker. I will go with Converse in Honor of Tennant lol.

Baron got back to me but need more pics which are difficult to find.

Not converse, they're more like skater shoes. The sole has a white section that makes them look a bit like wedge heels.

yea I don't care for the shoes much lol. I know I have a pair
of black and white converse skate shoes. I just need to nail
down the coat and start on the strappings.

The bandoliers and belt are pretty straight forward. The most interesting detail I saw is that the edges of the shell loops are a sort of series of half circles shapes on the edges. No idea if there's a name for that. The stakes should be really easy to cut out of a 5/8" or 3/4" wooden dowel.

yea, Im not too worried about the stakes or bandoliers, more so the coat
at this point. I want to make the blessed stake though. Need to find good
pics of that as well. Google, here I come.

Back from the movie and yea, the coat's custom. I loved the movie and really liked Tennant's and Yelchin's slaying costumes. Kind of want to make both now.

yea, Charlie's outfit was cool as well. Great payoff with that one.
That coat is gonna be the death of me.

Do you remember what the stake was called? I think it was named
after a saint

From what I've seen of the coat, it appears to just be a modified leather biker jacket, with some extra leather sewn on to make it a knee-length trench. The jacket you should shoot for is a typical button-collar crotch rocket jockey favorite. Shouldn't be too hard to locate one, then just find some leather fabric in a close enough texture and stitch it on.

Something like this...

You could go about it that way, just find one with the proper shape and cuff/collar fastening. Might be tricky to remove the zipper, you'd definitely end up with lots of stitch holes that wouldn't go away.
