Pepsi is making Pepsi Perfect? BTTF

I definitely think him not posting it on here is what gave me a chance to get on the list for one of his final bottles. If he had advertised it here with the very small amount he was doing there would be no way! Glad I didn't miss out on his last run.

Me 2, thnx AlbertR213 for keeping me posted on his FB bidding! [emoji106]
Wouldn't be able to have bought one if you didn't...

I thought he was going to post here too when he started selling them. :unsure

I think he did, but just like my selling offer here for a US Pepsi Perfect bottle,
The message was deleted very soon after posting it...

I finally got around to taking my bottle out of the package. Had a little bit of fun with an ornament container as well. The ornament container was all scratched up, but it looked cool enough for a quick pic.

Well, he said multiple times to follow his FB page as there was a chance he would be selling them through there.

I am am normally on the list for his final bottle, so I can't wait for it :p

Hope you get your bottle soon. I am sure it will be great. Not all of us are on Facebook so a little disappointed that none were offered on here especially after replying to one of Gary's posts stating that I wanted one of the coloured versions if he made them available. At least I got the USA, Mexican and Argentinian releases so Gary's will have to be the one that got away!

Noted. I presumed it was going to be a bigger run than it ended up being, so I didn't see a point at the time to hound the guy to get in on it. That's why I wasn't paying closer attention.
I did the same thing. Oh well, I will live with what arrived today:

The Amazon packer did one of my great packing pet peeves: it was well padded on four surfaces, but it was right up against the shipping box on the bottom and one side. No damage, thankfully.

Well I think that concludes this thread for me, been a bit of a rollercoaster ride but we are now in to 2016 so as Gary said, time to move on!

For those of us who have the "real" Pepsi version and want to pour out the soda and fill it with a soda colored liquid for long term display, what do you recommend? I assume that the carbonated soda might be corrosive to the plastic in the long term, so I want to pour it out and fill it with a substitute .

Almost 15 years of BTTF stuff. Time to clear out my projects and move on.

Totally understandable. It's funny, the last time I watched BTTF I realized that it's become very hard to actually immerse myself in the story anymore because of all of the background knowledge I've acquired over the years about the production and props. Sometimes you have to step away from a hobby for a while so that one day you can return to the original thing that first inspired it and remember what made it so cool to begin with. I went all out in 2015 for BTTF stuff, and with 2016 now upon us, it's hard not to feel a partial amount of closure towards my love of that film series now that the future is the past...or maybe I'll just take a break for a year or two...

I would like to say thanks again for posting the tracing of the original bottle a while back. Now at least we can lathe or mill a solid one for ourselves. That's more than many original prop owners would do.

Well, I was lucky enough to get one of the last Gary's bottles. And even luckier to be the winner of the draw he made for the people who managed to get one. (You can't imagine how much I cried in happiness and jumped around after seeing the final bottle list). I like all the "behind the scenes" posts regarding the DeLorean and the Pepsi Bottles he made.
But now I have a crazy idea but I need some help. My idea is to display Gary's Bottle inside a clear tube with a hole as seen in the movie and with a sticker on top with part of the P of the Pepsi logo (like in the movie). Does anybody know the measures of that tube, the measures of the hole to access the Pepsi Perfect, etc?
I may get a USA Pepsi Perfect from some relatives that managed to get one and they may give it to me as a present, but I don't want to destroy the tube it comes in. Also, it may not be good enough for Gary's bottle due to different size. I want to make it from scratch and accurate, if possible, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks a lot!!!

Congrats buddy! I too was able to get in on the run. It's the one prop that kicked off my whole obsession with collecting, so I'm over the moon.

How are you planning to display your Diet Pepsi and Slice bottles?

Thanks a lot!!!

Thanks. I entered on the run because I said to myself "you know this is gonna be your collection's holy grail, and it's your last chance forever to get it", so, getting the bottle is something incredible. I haven't think yet in any special way to display slice and diet bottles, I suppose one at each side of the Perfect, but I want the Pepsi Perfect in a tube like the movie, that's for sure, and I'll try to make one (I don't know how yet, but I'll try :p )

I also would really like to do a correct tube like in the movie but I unfortunately don't have the skills or knowledge to do something like that yet.

You said you want to display it just like in the movie so if you do make that tube are you going to put soda inside your Gary bottle or leave it empty?

I have a friend that works making shapes with methacrylate, so I'll ask him if a tube similar to the one in the movie can be done. About displaying it with or without the liquid. Mostly, I want the bottle empty because with time, the liquid may degrade or tint the acrylic plastic; but that doesn't mean that I don't want to fill it sometimes to take some photos or drink from a "real" Pepsi Perfect. After that, a little bit of water to get rid of any pepsi left, and back to the display.

EDIT: Ok, watched the scene again and now I know how I will display the bottles (or try to). I'll make not the complete table, but a square portion of it with the disc with the Pepsi Logo like the ones in the 80s Cafe of the movie (where the tube with the Pepsi is lifted) and that "white with little black worms" pattern around it. So, picking a wooden table and carving an angled hole in it, applying a vinyl pattern & Pepsi sticker, and then making a hole in the second P of Pepsi, so I can put there the plastic tube with Gary's Pepsi Perfect in it. The rest of the bottles will go on the Pepsi wooden disc.
That's what I'll plan to do. I really think there is no better way to display the bottles

Again, ANY helping with measures of the circular Pepsi disc, the plastic tube, etc, would be highly appreciated.

Here is a very rough composition I made quickly with Photoshop. (I have better skills, but not much time right now :p )

That would look great! I personally don't have enough space where I plan to display my bottle for all of that but that would make an awesome display! I don't have the Diet Pepsi or Slice bottles although I would love to still be able to get a pair from Gary ;)

The tube is still something I would love to try and get to display my bottle from Gary in!
