I guess I'll work on the gladiator lid too.

Edit:

I started the gladiator helmet. The flower shaped rivet thing on the "hinge" will have to be a circle, but I'll add more detail to keep the overall shape smooth.

Hey DB,

looks great, but I personally think it´s more "Destro" than "Dr.Doom", though. What did you base your sculpt on? My Doom knowledge isn´t probably up to date ;)

Michael

I agree, it does look like Destro, but it is the Fantastic 4 movie version. It loses the "Doom" look because I didn't put the rivet details in...especially around the eyes.

your stuff is awesome man. thank you for making them, and making them available. ive been eyeballing your pep blog for a while and have been trying ti figure out what my next project would be.

i saw book of eli the other day and swore he had a kmart name tag instead of a walmart one.

I watched it again, you are correct, I'm working on a correct name tag. I'll update the pep file once It's done. I'll also enlarge the center hole in the blade. I was hoping nobody would notice before I fixed it :p :thumbsup

SO I have a few questions. This year I am trying to do my kids halloween costume from pep. Last year I did vacuumforming and well, I am hoping this is easier. Anyway I am trying to find a republic commando helmet. I found torso armor and was able to scale it to his size so thats a plus. However I was not to bright and did it all from printer paper and not cardstock. Is there anyway to save the 12 hrs of cutting I put into this so far?

Hey Dung, did you ever get a chance to work on that Batman helmet? If not, I know your busy with other projects.
I started it, but got stuck working on ppl's websites. I'll get it done eventually. Let me know if you are on a deadline for it. I could move it up on my to do list, but no promises. I haven't done much pep work lately except for the whiplash armor, but I'll work on it when I can. I'm trying to get whiplash done before people get bored with Iron Man stuff.

Give it several coats of acrylic sealer (the rattlecan kind) Spray lightly, let dry, then repeat until the paper seems sturdy enough not to warp from the resin. I don't know if it will work with such a large piece, but if all you have done is the chest, you still have a lot of cutting to do anyway. If you haven't assembled it, you might laminate the pages and then assemble it. I don't know what the resin will do to the plastic, but I'm just thinking out loud here.

Good luck with it.

do you think that would work on cardstock to give it a little more rigitity before you resin?

i was thinking a spray of some sort would help stiffen it up before resin. taking hot glue seems like it would mess up the resin, not to mention its stupid hard to sand nicely.
