Pepakura replica helmet models

Ywingfighter has given me some great references of the Y-wing pilot helmet. I've attempted this helmet several times, but the references I have been using weren't great for modeling from. I've only spent about 30 minutes on it, but here's a video of what I have so far. YouTube - y-wing pilot helmet WIP

I will need to clean up the geometry and add the recessed details on the cheek, but I think it is coming along nicely.

That Rocketeer helmet looks great! I've been thinking about trying a pepakura project for a while, but now you've awakened that same overexcited 8-year old (I want THAT!) I turn into whenever I find a favorite prop... thanks so much for making this! I envy your talent - can't wait to see the final helmet & rocket pack!

P.S. General question for this thread; does anyone know if there's a pepakura version of the Starship Troopers/Firefly Alliance helmet or armor available anywhere?

I use a CraftRobo to cut it, It saves crazy amounts of time and is pretty accurate.

I'll release the .pdo soon, I'm still tinkering with it. I'm adding the visor and a few greeblies to it.

Download the .pdo here.
Fill the void areas inside with something rigid that fits inside based on the thickness of the material you are using. Glue the sides first and put something heavy and flat on top of them until the glue dries. Long strips like this tend to curl/bend/deform in odd ways unless you keep it flat somehow.

Here's a bigger pic of the name tag. It is not accurate by the way, just something I threw together from a pic of a real WalMart tag. The one from the movie is made of pvc with a magnetic back. Some of you retail guys know what I'm talking about.

Just watched Book of eli and wow thats an awesome movie! Ill have to do this soon. Your models are taking over ALL of my free time...and I have alot of that :lol Thanks for the tips on building the knife. I'm glad you did this because I dont have the tools to cut sheet metal :-/ Your work has honestly inspired me to start modeling seriously now. I think my second thing will be...the nazi rocketeer (helmet and jetpack). Simple helmet for a beginner like me at making wearable models, I just would like to find a german helmet pep to use as a base to save some time

Hey Dung0Beetle, did you ever finish that Stormtrooper pep? Last I saw you just had the helmet left to go. I love your work and was looking forward to seeing that when it was finished.

Also, have you ever tried doing a Megaman X bucket? I'm a rookie in 3DS max but I'm having a go at it.

hey there master Dung0bettle, sorry to bother you but could I please have your ironman helmet pepakura. you sent me the down load awhile back and for some reason my email account got compromised and I had to contact hotmail. long story short I'm working on the helmet but I lost a piece of the face connection to the cheek area. could you please send me another download of your pep file Please. Thank you.

Can anybody tell me how to increase the scale of this to make it wearable? I'm using Adobe Reader 9 with the settings Letter and Landscape for the printer. The first version I printed and started to build appears to be about half the size it would need to be. Thanks

Did anyone/can anyone do the maximus helmet from gladiator?

Im going as him for halloween and a pep of the helmet would make my life 100 times easier.
