P2 Closed Mouth Build. Raw Latex 1St Pull P24 24/11/11

Just an amazing jobs so far, especially around the eyes with the detail. How do you get it to be that smooth, especially since 80% of the sculpt is by hands. That's just an amazing stat in itself.

Just one of the little dental tools, in fairness it has had alittle white spirits in places to smooth some bits off. when i get closer to smoothing areas, ill hit it with alittle heat also, or if i really want some damage done, white spirits and heat lol.

Thanks for the tips, will greatly help out in my own ventures. Again, thanks for the journey, it's great seeing this progress!

Thanks guys, hopefully it will start pulling together alittle better in the next few updates.

sadly im back on early nights tomorrow for 7 nights so............ may not have many updates next week :)

Not sure if it's the photo or if it is even "supposed to be", but the centerline ridge seems a tad bit to the left. Perhaps, just drop a string from the center of brow to center of the middle horn to better center it? At any rate, LOVING the overall shapes, forms, etc. Awesome job, thus far, Mr. Lee!

Yeah the centre line is abit iffy at present, it does not help that the top dread lug/ridge is not finished yet hehe.

thanks though :)

Looking really good so far Lee.
Here's some pics to check all the weird angles.
Very important for a perfect P2 bust which we all know you can pull off.

Thanks Larry.

The head curve on Crashes drawing, is awesome, i felt it was not very accurate to what we saw on film though :) but it could be the angle of the drawing looking at it again lol.

but theres that many heads with that many different angles/animatronics/ various stages of mouth positioning etc its a bloody knightmare to get the look im after hehe.

i think the lower edge of the lower mandibles/cheak needs some attention, i have too many angles gong on me thinks.

mn this P2 is driving me nuts already, i sorta long for P1's lol.

I think the fact that you have to work all week is a good thing.

Will give you time to walk away from it.... forget what it looks like... and then revisit it with a fresh perspective.
Maybe gain some new motivation.

Just cover it up and don't look at it until 5 days from now. I promise you will see it in a new perspective, works on me everytime I do it to myself.

Don't get too frustrated!

Gene, I wish i only did 5 shifts, i always do 7 in a row :)

but i agree a new perspective on it in a few days may help ( although i have changed abit more since the last photos and im fairly happy for the overall shape now. )

More frustrated that i have to work to be honest hehe.

Sorry no dude, i have a commission that takes priority over this, but i will be back on it in the next couple of weeks, as i want my clay back hehe.

I have actually started to detail the neck, but not worth a pic.

and masterpeice? eerrr no.

but thanks all the same.

Yes Lee again your being to modest and you don't know your own skills as a sculpter. You are one of the best on the lair, so looking forward to seeing this finished as it will be another masterpiece from you.

Disagree, and i will as long as i continue to be part of this forum, ANYONE can do this sculpting malarky, they just need some patience, and help from the members here.

helping each other makes a huge difference, hense why i do not like people who treat it like some sort of secret society /boys club pretending sculpting is some sort of black art.

as i said i HOPE to improve over my open mouth P2, but if not, so be it.

How dare you let this thread FIZZLE out like this. I dont care what other projects you got going on. Get your head in the game , before you get my boot in your british arse.

Love,

Gene.

lol.

my British arse o_O

Thread is not fizzling out dude, promise i will be back on it as soon as possible ( i want the clay back for starters. )
