P2 Closed Mouth Build. Raw Latex 1St Pull P24 24/11/11

show how **** my sculpts always start when Morph gets more attention than the sculpt hehehe.

by the way , morph is shitfaced lieing down in the tool tray now , cant handle his beer apparently.

Dude, if YOU drank as much as a bathtub would hold, you'd be passed out, too, LOL...

Love watching the build up of clay. It's pretty cool to see how your mind works as far as which part to build up next...

was that one of those sculpt your own morph kits by any chance lee?

and i cant w8 to see some more on the mask its a great thing your doing for all the would be sculptors out there

we all just hope you get lots of free time mate

no its just clay im using for the P2, i told ya i get easily distracted, even more so when ive had a few drinks hehe.

I am hopefully going to do some more today, i intend on working the brow/eye/nose mouth area today, ( i am fed up of blocking. )

I have a couple of pictures of the look i am going for , i wil post them up later so you can help me see where i am going wrong.

another day with not much on, so this afternoon it has been throwing clay at this again.

again i used the worms for rough placement of things on the mouth, along with trimming the brow down, popping in some eyes and fleshing the upper cheaks slightly.

Then i started to again roughly place the crown horns, you can see small hole i dug, i found this helps me ( probably just me ) by securing the horns inplace when pushing them into shape ( i am also clumsy )

When i had done that , i have now spent about 30 mins flattening out some chunks of clay into slabs, i guess i could have done it quicker if i heated them, but its kinda theraputic working the clay into a soft state just via your hands, and besides i am in no rush. ( you can just see them at the bottom of the pic ) I will use these to rough out the outer size of the head, slabs make it real quick to work with. ( even hard clay like this ) I should be done with that fairly quick, and i will post quick pics when i have.

Again this is all just real rough, and i have not begun to check symetry yet ( although i am never overly worried about perfect symetry, as its pretty rare to find real symetrical stuff in nature )

Tools used= only fingers at this point still, apart from the horn holes.

again it still looks like ****, but hopefully that will change in the next couple of days.

Ok done that, and now i see i AGAIN need to elongate the head more grrrr.

i will try to get some time later to work on that and then start working on the symetry and fleshing it out properly to the forms i want.

well im done for today, i am not sure when i will get time again, but i am nearly done with the basic shape. it obviously needs refining and the symetry work done, but i think it is not far off the basic shape i am after. i can now start tightening up the shapes and smoothing/filling in the small gaps etc.

I have to change the inner crown as it is too round looking and needs to be longer going up the forehead. although it is not as bad as the photos make it look, it still needs adjusting.

i am only using my iphone at present, i will use a proper camera with plain background from now on, but it would have been a pain in the ass and back to move this with the small updates i am trying to do, as it is now weighing in at 38.06 LB.

Measurement wise is it 13inches at the widest part of the head and 21 inches long from crown to chin.

i have started to work the mouth detail now , as again i wanted a change of view or i would have got bored. I will be working on the eyes/mouth and dred edges when i can, then i will probably finish off the back of the head before working my way around to the closed mandibles area and neck somewhere in the middle ( when i get bored again  )
