P2 Closed Mouth Build. Raw Latex 1St Pull P24 24/11/11

Looking forward to the progress pics! I've just discovered that pictures taken in a small room look better when shot into a hand mirror and then flip it back in photoshop. It prevents the fisheye look that the small lenses on digital cameras sometimes give.

Do this to your sculpt and it will never fall or tip.

I did this to my current head sculpt. Works real nice. I used some old straps from a Suit case with some screws and washers.

Hahaha It looks that he had a Accident with a Truck !

Good luck with the Sculpt

Lee, I thought I'd chime in here, since my ears started burning...I just measured my P2 bio, and it pretty much agrees with the measurements that Gene took for you. I always try and measure the dome at the widest, which is a little higher up than where Gene took his, and it comes out to 11-7/8", or just over 30cm. I was guessing the length from memory, and it is more like 19", as Gene showed.

Now these two pics seem to show that the hero bio at least, should be a bit wider than the mask, and reach down and partially cover the first set of dread holes.

I plan on sculpting a hero version from scratch, and I was planning on increasing the size of the stunt by roughly 15%. This would make it 13.8" wide, and 22" long. I may not actually go that large, but certainly it will be bigger than the stunt.

Now, since I HAVE one of your open mouth P2s, I thought I'd try and sit my bio on it. It doesn't work so well, to be quite honest. The bio isn't nearly long enough, though it is just barely wide enough (I can just about cram everything into the bio, but the back of the bio still doesn't quite overlap the top of the head). I'd guess that the stunt head was both narrower and shorter than you did your mask, to retain the right proportions.

You know I want one of these, so if you want to consult on anything, seeing as how I have your mask and my bio handy, just ask.

You are right hez, a P2 head sculpt forehead should perfectly lay flush with the inside of the P2 bio helmet, and then just lightly overlap the edges around the dread holes. Follow a P2 helmet when doing this sculpt, Lee.

Just had a nice long chat with Paul in chat.

What we seem to agree on ( not a plan as yet ) is that my sculpt should be maybe 5% bigger than the open mouth P2 i did. It will be somewhere in the middle of the stunt and hero screen sizes then.

As Paul has said he will be sculpting a hero bio in the future, i guess his will be the ONLY P2 bio to fit my mask. ( hopefully )

Now i just need to get some time to carry on sculpting.

so far so good lee,by the sounds of it you need time, aint time a killer, where does it go?!!!i can spend hours in the man shed lol! and wonder where it went and feels like no progress is done, you and the other members have inspired me,and im attempting a full pred sculpt, starting this month,as only im a amatuar, will do my best!!

Finally have alittle time to work on this, so i expect to be able to add another small update today.

I do not NORMALLY do sculpts like this, but i am trying to think logically and making this make sense if i can. here i have put a ridge roughly in the centre of the forehead up and over the top, and started to put a ridge, again roughly where the MAIN forehead section will be.
this is REALLY roughly placed, but give me a idea of placement. also at this point the sculpt following the curve of the head from rear of crown to tip of chin meassures 19.75 inches long. ( and if anyone is interested it weighs 23.87 lb )

i have some more time so i will flesh out the forehead section next, then move onto getting the rest of the top of the head roughly shaped out.

moreeeeeeeeee, wooooooooooooo lee in 2 updates in a day shocker blah blah blah . ( ys thats sarcasm )

I ve had today pretty much to myself, wifey in work till 22.00 ( and i dont have to go to work tonight, yay me ) so ive been chillaxing, had a few drinkie poos, and ate too much , watched football, watched a film. yay me.

Well here we go , i fleshed out the middle of his head abit more, then started the same idea on the jaw line.

p2cm9.jpg

then i realised something very interestng, i made the head too small, nope that was not it, although a good spot. i noticed that the clay was the same colour as MORPH !!! ( i gues only uk guys will know that name ) so i spent a while making him, with the idea , he was a clever fellow and he would help, no such luck, all he want to do is drink my damn beer.
its ok now cos i pulled the little gits arms off.

anywya, workin on my own i extended the head length and its now about 22 inches, so with the mandibles on i guess it will be about 24, - latex shrinkage , it should be about 21 ish.

more pics eventually.

toodles.

That's a great looking start on your Megatron sculpt there Lee. *looks at thread title* I mean...umm...

you know i love you lee but.......that mask is......a......bit.....****, doesn't really look like a predator  your sculpting skills have somewhat diminished, cant see you selling many of those  :D

lets get this straight, i dont do this too sell them, if i wanted to do that id be using a soft clay and sculpting every hour i had spare. sadly i work 7 shifts in a row, including this week over xmas. this is around a family and single handidly trying to renovate a house we live in.

ill be sure to make this turd not available now then , just so i make my point

hahaaaaa

anyhoo, called it a day, i got a few hrs in which is a miracle, i think the overall height of the head possibly has to be raised about 1/2 inch.

im still blocking it out at present, but at least it is starting to move away from megatron.
