ORCA scratch build

2 cages this time one collapsed and one with Hooper in it. That’s a lot of hole drilling

Went through through some of these photos again. The skill in replicating the details and weathering of these ship models is incredible. Having been on old wooden sport fishing vessels in the north east since a kid and the shrimp boats in Louisiana later in life, the realism is outstanding. There is something very special about those old boats and it jumps right out when looking at these large scale scratch built models. A view to the adventure of the past for sure. Time machines. Created by a talented artist.

Just caught up on this thread. Sometimes TRPF does not send messages to me about updates to watched threads , sooooo annoying.

Great work as usual! Nice to see physical skill sets being used.(y)

Hey Scott - if you get a thread update notification, but you don't actually go and view the thread, you won't get any more updates from then on until you do view it.... Catches me out all the time!

here's a vid i found on YouTube well worth a look and gives details were he sourced his parts, and how accurate filmzys build is :) just pure fun.
It was his video that confirmed the 3 inch planking over the 3-1/4” . I wish he would make the table to finish it off. I would love that as an office

I suspect the Orca cabin would have the table located pretty close to the seat for modern people's comfort.

People's average heights in Europe/NA have grown a good 3 inches since WW2. And of course weights have absolutely ballooned since the 1980s.

Richard Dreyfuss looks comfy in that booth and he was smaller than Tom Cruise.
