Not sure if you plan to permanently affix the seat cushions, but just to throw it out there since you're going for hyper-accuracy, removing them would likely reveal lids underneath for access to storage compartments within the benches.

no, it's just easier to machine them thicker and drop them in to locate their position.

Hey Flimzy after building a few of these models your fly bridge seems to be slightly narrow and looks like it needs to be a little wider.

Hey Flimzy after building a few of these models your fly bridge seems to be slightly narrow and looks like it needs to be a little wider.

I decided early on not to go with anyone else's models and start from scratch, hens the 3D model and rendered videos before starting the build
because there is no definitive set of drawings available, it is well known that ORCA 1 and 2 are very different in many ways and I have stuck to ORCA 1 where possible. lining up my model to screen grabs, to my eye I'm happy with the direction I'm going in. But that is not to say you are not right and your opinion isn't valid.

in my photo, it shows the inner frame without the timber cladding so it does look smaller than it will eventually be but my model fits these presumptions

Looking good, including the fly bridge You're right about its width; lots of Orca models have made this error: fly bridge is too wide

You are correct in some shots it looks wide and some shots it looks narrow.

having the roof removable has added some problems. but I'm still having a lot of fun
