Officially Licensed TRON LEGACY - RINZLER, Sam & TRON Movie Replica Suits.

Sorry about that ^post above^ but i had to make SURE the "reply button" worked...
Please forgive me, but im "new" to RPF...
but i spent the last # of days reviewing all the threads related to UD Replicas & youtube related too...
Anyways, i have a FEW inquires & questions for David about the Sam Flynn legacy suits.

To start, i plan to take FULL advantage of the motorcycle aspect...
So i want to "factor in" the COMFORT level, from a biker's point of view...

Any advice would be "useful at this point" for me because,
the MAIN factor that is troubling me, is deciding between the XXS & the XS
i stand 5'11 & weight 140lbs (making me pretty slim indeed)
35" Chest (36" deep breath) 32" Bottom, 23" sleeves, 19" shoulders, ? Back

Another question relates to the Padding comfort/safety
i understand they are CE3 certified, but are they the cushion or hard plastic type?

Next is about the inner lining
Does the inner lining cover the ENTIRE inside or it more like a V type?
...and does it have pockets inside the jacket?

contuning on with the ^above^ post...
A few MORE questions poped in my head that is...

Because im still at HIGH debate with myself,
on ether buying the ENTIRE Sam Flynn Legacy Suit...
Or simply going the route of buying BOTH the Sam & Rizzler Jackets.

i NEED to know, since i ride a stretched out GXSR for everyday use...
How "breathable & streatchable" is the jacket & pants?
Does it "hold tight to ur skin" with the 4way spandax material?
Or does the STIFF leather "fight/restrict ur movments" while riding?
Basicly what im asking is...how "form fitting" is the jacket & pants?
And how "comfortable is the padding", does it have cushion to it?
Or does the pads have a "thin plastic shielding" type of feel to them?
Think of it like this, would u feel SAFE falling off going 80mph in the suit???

These are only a "few questions" that run through my head as a EXTREME biker!
So im OPEN to hear any advice ppl are willing to give, on the comfort level of the suit...
Ether from a biker OR cosplay standpoint...i'll listen.

I'd say i'd rather have a suit instead of 2 jackets. I dont know when you plan on ordering or if there is a cut off date, but SDCC is just around the corner. I'm sure David will be there with his gear. I can try and get some close up video for you. David might already have some footage though. I recall seeing a video some place where he describes the suits and materials. I didnt check the Spandex vs leather last year, but i can tell you i'd have felt very safe in his Batman suit.

As far as riding gear though, i decided this isnt the gear i'd want to scuff up on a bad ride. Insurance would cover the replacement, but idk how long these are going to be available for. Like the batman suit, i'd hate to want one and find out they arent being made anymore.

On a side note, I think a Rinzler suit would look sweet with your chrome bumble bee

@ 89Forever...thanks for ur comments & advice
Your conlcusion is SOLID thou, i would perfer a ENTIRE suit over 2 jackets any day!
But as u meantioned urself, im NOT sure how long these will stick around :(
Sales Close: Aug 31st 2012, so does that mean its the END of the run???
Or simply...does it mean its just the END of the sales quarter, get orders out?
And second...if i put in a order for just the jackets, could i ADD more to my order on a later date???

Farther more...as meantion be4, i intend to USE the the suit!
But i would also AGREE to the notion of "not wanting to scuff up" this work of art David created...
Thou things "do tend to happen on the road" FASTER them ppl think!
There is a infint # of aspects that could ARISE out on the "roads & freeways" on ANY givin day
i just want the ..."safe of mind knowing"...IF something does, the jacket/suit gots it covered 110%!
So with that "mind frame set" the suit has to be able indestructable!
Because knowing my crazy ass, ill be doing well over a 100mph! lol

Speed Happens!

Especially on these things. Note: David built these as motorcycle suits first, and replicas second. If by chance I turned my self into a skid plate, i'd have felt confident in his leather. as for the Rinzler suit, i never looked that close to it. i was too worried about the melt & stick factor of synthetic materials in a high friction (sliding) environment.

i never thought to ask before, but maybe David has done some tests on the spandex.

i think invincibility should be a built in feature to the Rinzler suit. I mean, he is kick ass, and I cant even imagine seeing Rinzler laid out on the asphalt with a semi-derezzed ride.

@ 89Forever ...contuning with the ^above^ post.
i THANK you for ur offer ;) on doing some "video recon work" on my behalf...
becuase i spent this ENTIRE week reading reviews & watching interviews related to UD Replicas
and this goes without saying, "David is a True Master & Visinory" at his craft" ...hands down!

With that said...i havent heard much from a "riders point of view" on the subject :(
Other then a few "it fits GREAT!" and "thanks you's" to David on the RPF tread
The only FULL suit review i came across was by UltimateCap at (#4 of 4 )UD Replicas Dark Knight Motorcycle suit review Part 4 - YouTube
This is the type of Review, im looking for on the Tron Legacy Suits that would help tip the balance...
On my judgement on ether getting the entire suit "OR" simply just the jackets alone.

On a side note, I think a Rinzler suit would look sweet with your chrome bumble bee
...chrome bumble bee! RoFLmFaO
While u might be right with ur assumption, since i have the bike lite with Red, Yellow & Blue LEDs

@ 89Forever...but as u meantion above.

Gotta say...the very SAME thoughts crossed my mind too ;)
As i said be4 and i'll say it again, David's "skill & craftwork" is dead on with the suits...
But unlike the others he created, the TRON Legacy suits have 50% silcone 4way spandex included.
So the question that arises in my mind is...are they "battle tested" in the field?

I didnt check the Spandex vs leather last year, but i can tell you i'd have felt very safe in his Batman suit.

I would have to AGREE to that notion,
and that is after "careful review" of ALL of UD Replicas related products...
But as u say, its the "spandex vs leather" that conserns me :(

Hi there.
I will see to it that Dave answers your questions. We're a little swamped right now with Q2 and June deliveries, so do sit tight. At some point he's going to need a coffee and that's usually when he sits back at his desk and lurks.:lol

What I can tell you is that all of our materials used, from the leather that is 1.1 mil thick to the mesh cordura and 4 way stretch spandex...these are all Motorcycle Grade materials and spandex is in fact part of bikerwear/outerwear so have no fear, we're certainly not using fashion materials here but Dave is in charge of product creation and development so he'll have to chime in here with the specifics.
I know a bit because I handle all of the certification needed on these goods, from safety testing to flammability certification, and so much more. Our goods don't just look cool, but the perform as they should.

@ RIMMAYR1...i thank you very much for ur "speedy" reply ;)
And NO worries, i know/understand David is a busy man...these days!
Which is WHY i choose to post my "questions" here, surpose to emailing them.
Simple to help "answer any unaswered questions" ppl might have like me...

As u meation & i read be4 in a earlier post...
the leather that is 1.1 mil thick to the mesh cordura and 4 way stretch spandex
So the question im asking is this...since im "unable" to see upclose OR try on in person.
Which sections of the jacket/suit is the 4way stretch spandex used in? :confused
Because "i was under the impression" from a earlier post david made in the RPF thread,
that the silcone Hexagon layer "along the inner sections" was the 4 way spandex.

On top of that, i've also read...
That there might have been "improvments made" to the leather?
Do to the complents of comsumers, on how "stiff" the leather was...
Is there any TRUTH to that statement???

And last, what sorta liner is in the jackets? r they V or a full

^
Those pics are of the 1st jacket I had with the "stiffer" leather. The inner liner is a zip-in that is a quilted Vest style. There is a pocket on the inside left of the vest. I actually had the vest removed in the pics so what you see is the mesh inner liner of the jacket.

lol ...you catch me red handed Bandit-Jedi!
i did end up snagging his pixs off another RPF thread desscussion, i pled guity to the court! lol
UD Replica Tron Legacy Motorcycle Jacket etc

With that said...its still HARD to get a "visual feel" of the jacket, through pixs alone,
which is one reason WHY im asking "so many questions" surrounding it.
Because u gotta admit...$1,200 is a LARGE investment for "something" u cant try on, till months later!
I just want to make sure, i'll be "satisfied & content" with the FINAL product once i do receive it...
im sure David & Rimmi can fully understand that ;)

Which brings up another the question...
What sorta "warrenty comes with the jackets/suits" when purcheced?
Just in case, there is "damage or marks" on delievery.

Is this the LAST run? ...for the Sam Flynn or Rizzler jackets/suits???

its ALL good David ;)
i understand ur a busy man & ur time is VERY limited...
Expsecally since SDCC is coming up & u got "June's orders" going out the door.
Not to meantion dealing with the "new license release" of the G.I.Joe line.

So with that in mind...
Once i finish doing some research & i have my questions lined up,
i'll give ya a call or PM ya my # instead...

Thanks for giving a moment of ur time David :)

Just got my shipping info for the "Tron" version of the Rinzler jacket and gloves.

They are marked for delivery on the 7th! So looking forward to it!

The Sam jacket looks fantastic, but I have a question. Will the smallest size XXS be too big for me? I'm 5'3", 32" bust, 25 waist... Are these jackets unisex or will you make one cut for women?

The Sam jacket is patterned for men but should work with the female frame just fine, I would think.
When the line was originally released there was the option for the Quorra outfit which looked outstanding but I can only guess the sales opportunity isn't there for a rerelease.

As with most questions on sizing that are asked here, I can best refer you to give David a call. Now with SDCC coming up I'm not sure if he is available right now so you might have to wait until a few days after.
If you are considering purchase then calling and talking to David is the BEST reassurance you can have when making a large purchase like this.

In the meantime, maybe go to a local cycle shop and try on the mens jackets they have there in XXS to give you a round about idea.

Tron "style" Rinzler Jacket and Gloves are in.
