Just a little peak at my process,
After trimming and washing, the lid gets a light coat of primer to help reveal all the pinholes and other surface defects that need filled and smoothed.
This process repeats until I have things where I want it, followed by several final "filler" coats using a 2-part automotive primer.

He we go with several coats of 2k primer. Tomorrow I will wetsand and basecoat. I expect this one to be finished by Thursday or Friday.

So... the current pics are the helmet with the "purple" addition to the Ghost Chrome paint scheme, correct? I thought I read something about that in a previous post. I can't tell from the images if that's a reflection off the objects in the room or part of the actual paint job.
I'm curious what the straight silver finish would look like now as well. Crap! I dig the way the light plays off the referenced helmets making the grooves look dark/dirty, so I'm conflicted. I tend to prefer screen-accurate as much as possible, so now I'm not sure which would be closest to that. I can't recall any of the new BSG cylons displaying that dirty, "lived in" look like R2/3PO from ANH. Thoughts on finishes closest to real-world accurate from a CGI model?

I looked on your FAQ's and got the "goods and services", 3% markup information and saw that you Paypal invoice once the job is completed. Is it possible to invoice me before you start? I'd like to push that money your direction ASAP so I can start saving up for the collar, abdomen, left arm, cylon "hum" board... right arm, pelvis, ... arduino eye, left leg, right leg... Nuked Earth first cylon, left foot, right foot... second mortgage... bank loan... potential spousal separation from costs associated with this project.
So if Enterprise 0216 doesn't pony up, then I can have one of each color scheme? Problem solved!
