Wow!, what is the wonderfest?? ALIEN theme? that sounds even cooler.. fill me in on this, sounds cool. I hope its on the west coast, otherwise I will need to ship it, with me being busy making Nostromo models and doing my day job!

Any chance you can take a pic of the hull next to something so we can get an idea of it's size? (i.e. a coke can)

Wonderfest is in part a big Sci-Fi model contest they have ever year in Louisville KY you can read more about it at www.wonderfest.com .

There theme this year is the 30th anniversary of ALIEN , If iam not mistaken Veronica Cartwright is going to be there this year.

Here are parts of the kit, close ups of molded engine flaps and misc. pieces, and other stuff, also here is the entire kit boxed up. We have already started on a second Nostromo. I kept one Hull for myself that had slight blemishes. I am going to Uber-detail it out with hundreds and hundreds of tiny panels and details. here are pictures of landing gear parts for the brass rods, these round
parts are the size of a quarter exactly. there are also landing feet and large engine flaps here...

Here is the entire kit in a Box....... actually to ship it safely I found a box about 2 times this size.....

Thank you Daytona! It is a lot of work, but at least I know where to get parts now so I can build mine if time allows !!!! I found a great use for all the spilled resin and flashing, little thin panels for tons of detail, and the trees can be heated and stretched for all kinds of tiny little piping and stuff in the rear engine areas!

Here is a second Hull I cast tonight, better than the last...I realized I sprayed to much mold release on the last one, ..so this one has a better bottom surface, just a couple slight little smooth-able blemishes.

The only way to describe this material is akin to PVC. This new hull I made with less material to give it thinner walls for fiber-optic landing floods....

Im actually thinking about building a kit of the Space Jockey derelict ship. The kit would be a little bigger than the Nostromo, with about 8 large pieces, and an open top section with a little tiny space jockey pointing that turret thingie up through the ceiling. the one part that will be time consuming is I would actually have to form it up and do all the detail myself for casting a master-mold, then I would need somehow to find a source of little tiny space jockeys. getting all around reference detail will be the most difficult, cos If im going to do it, I would need to find all angles of the ship, and I dont know if it is possible.

Supposedly the derelict is about 1.2 million years old, and grown or something, and supposedly a type of bomber...so judging by the cargo hold, the bottom should be a little deeper than maybe shown on any conceptual models ive seen maybe actually a fairly fat section of the bottom of this ship is buried in the lava or something....This fact kinda throw the whole thing up into the air how I could go about doing something like this.

The Derelict would definitely be an interesting project. I'm not sure how well the interior and exterior actually match up, so a bit of creative licence might be needed.

As for the different angles of the interior, since the set rotated allowing the same large sculpted background wall panel to be used in all camera angles, we can assume that the Space Jockey "cockpit" area was circular with the same repeated pattern all the way round. A possible bonus for mold making!

I wouldn't think the miniature Space Jockey would be a huge problem to sculpt. I'd be happy to take it on if you are stuck for a source for it. Establishing the exact scale of it in relation to the ship's exterior might be an interesting challenge.

You all know that in order to sell on the forum that a member has to have at least 20 posts,and 90 DAYS in here,and it MUST be in THE JUNKYARD! By asking JtParker to sell this openly on the forum,you're all violation the forums' CoC rules,and are also jeopardising his membership here as well! All questions for offers to sell,buy,trade,etc. should be sent by PM. The moderators could also delete this thread entirely if they see fit to do so! Please forgive the hijack! Anyway,what I wanted to say,is that I know a website that great pics of this,and I'll see if I can find it again,and post it here. If you can figure out how scale down the figures for this,then it should be easy to figure out what size the space jockey would be compared to them,and the nostromo. Now,if someone could only cast the refinery in 1/100 scale - that would be cool!2 cents

Thanks Newbie, I can understand people being inquisitive..thats why Im keeping my mouth shut on prices or ordering. I still have like 2 months before I can even post these in the junkyard. Basically This thread will help me judge interest and maybe proceed with a full production scenario in the future.

In Regards to the space jockey, and the derelict, the scale is a little easier to judge compared to people than the nostromo. We can see a direct correlation between the creature and the astronauts, and then we can see the diameter of the chamber he sits in in relation to the top blistered opening on the derelict space craft. The nostromo we can judge my the fact a landing claw foot is a little taller than a person, and the cockpit windows gives a clue.

The Nostromo is taller than the derelict, but the derelict is a little wider, though flatter

If you can find those pics, that would be awesome!!!
