No Time To Die (James Bond 25)

Wow I didn’t see that coming. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I’m a life long 007 fan I have absolutely no objections on a different take for the character.

However, we did the whole coming out of retirement thing is Skyfall.

I'm not going to see James Bond movies starring "not James Bond".
I won't be alone on that, millions of fans will walk away from a very stupid decision
if they intend to replace the film franchise with a new character.

They want to do spinoffs following another MI6 agent knock themselves out.

I want James Bond in all his glory or it's the end of the road for me.

But hey, I've lost beloved lifetime franchises before to idiot decisions so
at some point what's left to strip away from me?

I move on to new things.

I thinking it’s maybe an intro to a potential spin off. But as stated above it will most definitely not be a James Bond movie. It would be a spy movie set in the same universe. I’m betting she relinquishes the title at some point.

I really want to see Idris Elba or Michael Fassbender take up the mantle.

I think its because at the end of Spectre, Bond retired so M must have given the 007 license to Lanasha's character. Throughout the course of the movie she'll either die or give it up and Bond will get it back.

Hope so and that would be formula so to speak and I'm good with that.

I'm a 13 year old again when watching Bond films. Girls, guns, cars, gadgets, fighting and
saving the world.
That's what I pay for, this male fantasy and the hell with PCism on that.

Doesn't mean I'm not passionate about female action characters too.
Where was everybody out to support Lara Croft's last globe trotting
action adventure? Not enough.

If any character deserved a spinoff from the Bond-verse it would be Felix.

I still think that if the whole new 007 thing is genuine, that something plot wise will have James take it back at some point, but then he'll die and the whole James Bond name will become a codename along with the 007 designation.

People said the same when Judi Dench was confirmed as M.....

I had no problem with Judi Dench as M and thought she did a great job in the role. Unless they completely change the character of James Bond I don't think female agent that beds every man she comes across is going to be that popular whether or not it is okay for a man to bed every woman he comes across but then that is the was Ian Fleming wrote him back in the 1950's and 60's. I also think Idris Elba would make a great Bond.

That wasn't my point, and the content of your reply has nothing to do with what I wrote either.

My point is, that there were people who complained about "PC gone too far", when Judi Dench was confirmed as playing M. Whether you personally did at that time is irrelevant to my point.

And talk about jumping the gun, Furiosa was awesome but who would want Max gone? They just assume this new character is going to be so popular people don’t want Bond anymore??? LOL Wow.

I wish they'd done this ages ago, it would put a fun spin on all the previous movies, and would have made more sense in the long run.

The best spot for it in mind was near the start of Casino Royal. Just one line from Dench along the lines of "How does the Bond ID always manage to be given to the degenerate 00's?" While glaring unapproving at "James".
